The Sword and the Salve

In the written word's warrant
lies the sword and the salve,
when the pen, in Truth's
time weathered fingers we have
placed, eager, such missives
for all yet to read.
The verses, sweet sonnets
of thought and of deed.

Though tenderly turned,
most sincerely seductive,
enchanting in timbre
and amorous octave,
still poets and prose
promise oft to unite us,
finding footfalls, our own,
'long the paths that divide us.

I loved it.  especially these lines:
most sincerely seductive,
enchanting in timbre
and amorous octave,
Great work!

A great poem, so very well done.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Another great one Meadowmuse, keep them coming.

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.
