Sometimes I feel lonely
although I'm not alone.
Sometimes I simply cry
not knowing reasons why.

Sometimes I walk alone
not knowing where to go.
Returning to where I started
having nothing with me to show.

Sometimes I ask dumb questions
to which the answers all seem plain,
yet I have to ask them
feeling confused and ashamed.

Sometimes I hate the people
who surround me everyday,
saying to myself
please shut up and go away.

Sometimes I need a hug,
or a shoulder to cry upon.
But then I say no,
its me I must rely on.

Sometimes I want to open up
bare my soul, make a change.
I've been like this too long,
myself I can not re-arrange.

Sometimes I want to curl up,
close my eyes and be no more.
Leaving no one there behind me
to ask themselves what for.

Sometimes I want to scream out
and ask what does this mean
instead I keep my mouth shut
inside I slowly bleed.

Echo.... It's just a part of life.... What more can I say? - Just surround yourself with happiness instead of gloom and doom... It works.......

Echo,
Sometimes is an echo bell
Just let it go to h...

Echo ...Sometimes we all feel this way. There have been days where I truly thought I would not see the next sunrise, that I thought there was no possible light beyond the darkness. I have just survived one of the hardest years of my life, one I never dreamed I would make it through and you know what? It feels good, it feels wonderful to face all those fears and still come out ahead. I hope 2000 is a year that brings you much strength, much contentment and much happiness. You most certainly deserve it.
Hugs

Echo, I am so glad that you truly do not keep your mouth shut. This poem beautifully shares the hurt and frustration we all sometimes feel. Good job. Chris

Great poem Echo,

You express yourself beautifully, I am glad that you can get these feelings out by writing. Sometimes even in a sea of people, it's easy to drown huh? Keep writing and being kind to yourself and doing things that make you feel good.

Huggs.......

Nan...LoL, I don't know what else you can say, it is just a part of life, this I know!

Sy...Thanks!

Ruth...I never thought I would see the year 2000, and it does feel good to have made it, I agree with you there!

mama duck...Well, I do keep my mouth shut, but my darn hands never hush    Thank you!

Ball...Thank you most kindly!

Denise...Well I knew I wasn't the only one who felt this way, though I wish I were cause it isnt a great way to be feeling, and I would rather everyone else not, even if I had to be the only one who did!

Julie...We're not alone THEY'RE OUT THERE LoL, j/m  I either feel like shutting out the world, or most the time that the world has shut me out!!

whiskey...It is just a part of life, you're right    Thanks

Moonshine...Writing seems to be the oly way i can get my feelings out (drawing also).  Yes, even in a sea of people it is easy to drown, and looking at this sea of people Im not the only one.

Thank you all for your comments, and if any of you happen to return to this, you will notice, I have changed the poem a bit.  I write this poem a few years ago, and went by memory when I posted it the first time (and after as many poems I have written it was amazing I remembered as much as I did

Echo, sometimes we do need a hug and a shoulder, and that is just fine
So I'm sending you some hugs and offering a shoulder anytime....

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Sometimes I too share all that you see here.
Sometimes I run and chase these fears.....but my somtime is .....What if sometime I did not have a poet such as you to remind me that sometimes I am not alone in these feelings that we both seem to share.  Thank you ECHO

Echo,

I write poetry to get feelings out, I also paint and draw as well and I'll tell you, I have some pretty strange tripped out pieces ( artworks) Keep writing and keep talking and keep doing whatever makes you feel good. Take care of you.
