My life has now become complete.
My world is happy and so sweet.
Old Santa was quite good to me...
A digital camera 'neath my tree!

All day and night I'm on the hunt,
World, greet the newest Allen Funt!
All things that pass within my sight
I gladly capture with delight!

Unsuspecting passers-by
Fall into my camera's eye.
Birds seen flying overhead...
Roses in my flower bed.

Bugs on leaves and blooms on trees....
Buildings, clouds and honey bees....
All those pretty northern peaches
Frequenting our sandy beaches.

My dog sees me and starts to growl
(And, lately, has been known to howl)
Whenever I start taking pics
And forcing him to do some tricks.

Sit up! Lie down! Roll over, boy!
Shake hands! Now jump! Go fetch that toy!
I beg and plead for him to smile
(But he keeps snarling all the while).

My girlfriend's on guard every hour
Especially when she's in the shower
Because she knows she runs the risk
Of being immortalized on disk!

So many neat things I can do
With what dear Santa brought.
What neat things can I do tonight.........?
I shutter at the thought!

This gave me a great smile Balladeer.  I can just picture you finding new focus in little things.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

That's great! Have fun with it! That's what I need...my camera just broke   and I have film still in it. Guess it's time to get out the old credit card!   (maybe I should wait...I just got laid off from my job...nah, I think I'll get one anyway!)

Fantasically funny poem, Balladeer!!

Uh-oh....A bad boy with a camera!  *LOL*

Look out world...

(ahem...this goes nicely to the tune of Jingle Bells...ROTFLMAO)

Balladeer has photo gear
You'd better run and hide!
Unless you're sure you can endure
his catching your bad side!

Balladeer has photo gear
The truth is out at last!
So remember this ~ don't be remiss
And cover your own *ss!!

Oh Balladeer has photo gear
Santa brought to him!
Watch yourself, don't be an elf!
He's FLASHING all at whim!

la la la la la la la la la la la!

Great poem, Sir. Have fun with your new toy!

Oh man, what a delight my digital camera is to me, Balladeer.  I can truly relate to all this...(And I never have to worry about if the film co. will develop the really good shots..LOL)  Lately though, Mikey has been sneaking around getting plenty of mug shots of me...I guess turn about is always fair play.  Glad you got such a wonderful gift from Santa.

Denise....who could lay you off? Thanks for the comment.

Caroline, that's great! I could actually sing it to Jingle bells! You crack me up!

Rainbow....yes, it is very steamy, lucky for her.....and, no, I don't understand why Caroline considers me a bad boy with a camera. (How does she know me so well?)

Michael ....yes, they are great and I'll bet Mikey's having fun getting back at you!

Nan........you do that.

Devina.....yes, it is a delight and easy to fall in love with these little boxes. Thank you.

Balladeer politely mutters
"Say cheese, guys" and clicks the shutter
All his friends begin to sputter
Faces red and then Sy utters
"No more candid shots' you'll shutter
Or you'll end up in the gutter
Now just grab your little putter"
Then Balladeer begins to shudder
Tears in eyes in anxious stutter
"No more can I click my shutter?
This has been my bread and butter
His little heart begins to flutter
Mind askew in nervous clutter
No more interest in his putter
Clinging close to his dear shutter

LOL just like a little kid with a new toy!  Taking pictures of everything that moves.  Cameras sure are fun though.  Now give your girlfriend a break Balladeer...let her at peace in the shower.

Ya don't know how good ya look
Till ya had your picture took.
Try self timer, get in the act,
It can really be erotic, and that's a fact!

Just picture this, you and your hand,
Taking self portraits, erotica grand.
Then send it to Hustler, old Mr. Flynt
He'll make ya a star, you'll make a mint.

Put the lens on Macro, a snapshot of your "tool"
Then put it on normal, then ya can fool,
All of the ladies who'll think you're the king,
Just never expose them, to the real thing!

Thanks, all for the replies. Elizabeth, how do you do that so well? You had everything in there except the Downtown Strutters Ball!

Toerag, you cur...

R O T F L M A O !!! That one, my friend, is classic Toerag. Gotta love it!! They can name the photo spread "Handing me a handout of hand-me-downs to handily have 'em handy."

I'm always willing to give someone a hand but, in your case, it will be three fingers and a thumb short.
