Have you ever sat beside the road-
And shivered in the wind?
And as you watched the passing cars..
The loneliness seeped it?

And told yourself, “It’s what I chose..
I like this kind of life”.
While the need for love and company
Did cut you as a knife?

I guess those lies are almost true-
But is that close enough?
To almost win a fight to death-
Can end up pretty rough.

To almost have a happy home-
And children and a wife...
Will leave you in the cold alone,
A mighty sorry life.

To almost make your mark in life-
Just means you’re gonna lose-
I fear you’ll find no comfort in...
This life of almost trues.

These introspective words are very true - not almost....

I really like this poem.  It speaks for nearly all of us out here.  One wrong curve in the road can send us there.

Happy New Year.

Definitly true, especially admitting we made a choice we sometimes regret, right?  Nicely done.

I know that feeling, gunslinger. There are lots of lonely roads out there. Good work.
