This was written in  response to one of the poems in the forum and my wife read it and decided we need to post it for others to read...

A life has a beginning, it also has an end...
And what hurts the very most is when
Our life's in the middle, --
We're looking at both ends'
We look back upon our youth,
Wish we still were there..
And yet the unpleasant things of youth-
bring "Fear", and tell us we don't "Dare".

We then look forward, at the future--
There's nothing there but "Old"...
Please, "LIFE" - stop dragging me..
You're making me feel "Cold"..!!
I see the bodies once so agile-
Now bent, & weak & bowed...
Please "LIFE"- quit pushing me..
Down that feeble "Road"
Somehow I feel insecurity "Here"..
And once again, here comes "Fear"-

So I'm caught in youth, behind strong bars,
And I'm miserable, can't we see.???
Caught up-here in the middle..
Somewhere between "A" and "Z"..
Time is your "Key"-"Patience" learn well-
We're here on "Earth", tween "Heaven & Hell".
There's always that struggle,
Gotta' deal with that "Fear"--
Of the "beginning" behind us-
And the "End" is too "Near".!!!

Jesus said, "Fear NOT - for I am the "Beginning and the End"...God Bless You-- May you find yourself & Him...

This is beautiful, FF and so full of truth and reality! Thanks so much for posting this! He is truly our only refuge from the past, present and future...the longing for the past, the labor of the present and fear of the future or unknown.  I can wish no one anything better than Him!

I can relate to this one.  You would like to do one thing but you are drawn to do what you really don't want to do because of good conscience.  Don't know which way will go yet.  For some, life is spent giving to others and to heck with what you want.  I lift a toast to all who are in that boat.  Happy New year.

FF, you outdid yourself with this one, it is truly wonderful.  It speaks to me greatly!  I hope it does others as well!!

I guess maybe this is why I try to live each day for itself....live for the moment.  I always try to plan a bit for tomorrow, just to stay "organized" and on the right path so to speak, but living in the past is definately no good - we can't undo what has been done.  Looking TOO far down the road is quite depressing!  Therefore, my opinion is to live for TODAY!  I think God would want us to enjoy every day for what it is worth....

If we spend "today" worrying about "yesterday" or "tomorrow".....then "today" will pass us by, and we will not have enjoyed it, or accomplished a darn thing!  I think worry is Satan's way of eating up our productivity!  What a waste of time it is !!!!   Our lives here are too short - we live once - I say make every darn moment count !

Okay, I'll just pass the offering plate here........yep.....thank you thank you......LOL !

Well, I would like to put my two cents in, but I just dropped them in Femme's offering plate! I'll just say "wonderfully written". and mean it sincerely.

Very well said, James.  I ditto all the responces, here.  "Worry not for the morrow..."  certainly words to live by.  I think the pain of being in the middle eases somewhat when you know for sure where the ending is going to place you, also...
Great poem.

I think there is alot to learn from the past, but to dwell there for too long takes pleasure from the minute.  I agree with Femme, that now is where importance is and how we use it builds tomorrow.

FF-thought provoking poem.

the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Well written and true for many. I live today and today only, but today was built on yesterday and on dreams of the future.
Loved the poem

Very nice, James..
...To be happy with who we are... is the solution to so many of life's dilemmas, is it not???
