OK, so I've studied my iambics, but I'm not going to call this poem a sonnet  -  but is it?

Jack Frost

Who is the one who paints December's sight
Of winter's frozen mist upon the blade
That settles down like crystal powder light
And clings to every leaf where it is laid

Who wakes my eye again in April's morn
And tries once more the winter to entice
By whisp'ring on the dew of which it's born
To make a frosted coat of purest ice

Who places whitened icing on the grass
The frozen sugar threatening bloom to kill
And then when sun awakes removes it fast
Hence, sparing once again the daffodil

The blessed hand of God was never lost
To one that we refer to as "Jack Frost"

Elizabeth Santos

Beautiful, Elizabeth....and just one syllable away from a perfect sonnet (the last line has one too many). The poem is great.

I don't know if it's a sonnet Liz, I just know that it is a poem that I like, like everything you write.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Thanks everyone,
Iambic phrase by any other name
Would more than likely still become my bane
I'm getting there.
Thanks for the help

This is exquisite!  The visions, which I can see in my  mind's eye, and the message.  Wow, can you paint pictures with words!
