Tell me story
   of princesses and princes
   of kind dragons, wise gryphons
and of funny cats that dance and play
I was pure once
Once in a time not remembered
I was free once
Once in a time that flooded with tears
I was wise once
Once in a time before I died

I had nothing
   No problems
   No fears
   No memories
   I was young
Like the gryphlet
Like the unicorn
Like the dragon
   I was free
   I was pure
   I was wise
   But I wasn't there
Tell me a story
   With happy endings
   With love
   With friends
Let me be young again

Tell me my life, friend
   Tell me your story

Shall I be a sorceress or princess?
To be under my spell or under my rule?
Shall I be a tiger or wolf?
To let me alone or run in a pack?
Shall I be ice or fire?
Cold and indifferent or passionate and warm?
Shall I be a dream or a flower?
One to wake from or one to die?

What do you want?
   I'll give you a gift
What do you want to see?
   I'll be a halluncination
What do you want to do?
   I'll be your support
What do I want to do?
   I want to please you

Tell me a story please!
   Don't leave me alone
   Don't let me die
   Don't go away
I'm just a child
   crying
   wishing
   dying
Speak of the magic again
   will the little princess die?
will her savior never love her?
   will the dragon be slayed?
Tell me what happens
   Don't leave me wishing, imagining
Tell me another
   I never want to sleep
Say the magic words
To set my dreams free again
Say my name
To remind me who I am

I'll tell you a story
   To whisper my name
I'll spin a tale
   To tell you about me
I'll make you happy
To let you chase the nightmares away

Just don't get too close

If I'm a sorceress
cut me with a magic sword
If I'm a princess
allow the dragon to carry me away
If I'm a tiger
   let the deer flee safely
If I'm a wolf
   lock me in a cage
If I'm ice
   make me melt to nothing
If I'm fire
   watch the embers fade
If I'm a dream
   morning comes soon
If I'm a flower
   then let winter take me

Tell me a story
   That lasts forever
Tell me a tale
   That spins magic
Tell me a legend
   That lets me dream
Tell me your life
   That lets me live

Please don't go
   I don't want another nightmare
Please don't hush
I don't want to be alone
Please don't stop
   I want another story
Why? you ask
Once upon a time, there is a story
   a life
   a girl
   a death
   her story
And once the story stops
   So does life
Tell me another story

This is child-like in its vision of need and fear and newness.  Reminds me of the whispers that I barely remember.  I liked it but was confused about meaning, but maybe that's okay.

A life has a beginning,it also has an end..
And what hurts the very most is when
Our life's in the middle --
We're looking at both ends''
We look back upon our youth,
Wish we still were there..
And yet the unpleasant things of youth-
Tell us we not dare'''& then comes fear-

We then look forward,at the future-
There's nothing there but "Old"...
Please,"LIFE"- stop dragging me..
You're making me feel cold..!!
I see the bodies once so agile-
Now bent, & weak & bowed..
Please "LIFE"- quit pushing me..
Down that feeble "Road"
Somehow I feel insecurity "Here"..
And once again, here comes "Fear"-

So I'm caught in youth, behind strong bars,
And I'm miserable, can't we see.???
Caught up-here in the middle..
Somewhere between "A" and "Z"..
Time is your "Key"-"Patience" learn well-
We're here on "Earth",tween "Heaven & Hell".
There's always that struggle,
Gotta' deal with that "Fear"--
Of the "beginning" behind us-
And the "End" is too "Near".!!!

Jesus said,"Fear NOt"-for I am the "beginning
and the End".....God Bless You--May you
   find yourself & Him...

Something out of Hans Christan Anderson maybe?  I really enjoyed this

I just had to say one more thing--each time I read this, I have to say it is one of the
most touching works I believe I have ever read..it has a feel to it that is hard to
describe..a kind of mysterious-fairy like-yet
small child-like theme to it.! I want to print it to re-read in the future..Ok? I feel
the person in this tale is a small person in age crying from desertion of a love lost..&
possibly searching forward for a new love of
replacement to give "Hope" unto "Life"..
May God help you find what you desire..I
sense you are a very special person inside..
Meanwhile,make Jesus your friend,until that
earthy one comes your way..be patient..OK!
The above poem came to me as I typed it..
Hope it was the story you asked for---

Thank you for all the kind remarks!  I wrote this after I listened to many a tale my friends had told me about their lives and that was how I felt.

*Listen to me I have beautiful dreams I can spin you, words to linger within you, as you ride my carousel...*  Sorry song just popped into my head after reading this poem.  Very touching and beautiful!
