A New World

Maybe this century, we’ll
Invent a cure for cancer, diabetes and aids;
Learn the meaning of the words “World Peace”;
Love our fellow man regardless of race and creed;
Endeavor to be a more caring and compassionate society;
Nurture our children and not our bank accounts;
Notice people for who they are and what they do, not what they have;
Invest in the future of our planet, not stocks and bonds; and
Understand that change begins, first, with us.
Maybe, just maybe, if we do all this...the world will be a better place.

Happy New Year To Everyone Here On Passions

 "I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me , this has always been enough." ~Nicholas Sparks from The Notebook

Hoot,
Wonderful thoughts going into the new year,
time to get our priorities straight, but oh, how beautifully you express it!

Very down to earth and realistic,
If the government would care to
take a dare he might earn something about people instead of money.

Nothing wrong with wishing. Regardless of what happens it will be a good millenium, especially with people like you in it. Happy new year, Ruth

Wow did I just have a dejavu!  These words just struck me that I've done this and read this, or something like that!  Wonderful thoughts Ruth and I sure wish we all could achieve something like this!

Ruth, truly wonderful words ...  maybe just maybe, new century, new possibilities!

Just by knowing you....mine already is better

 I have learned that the pain of a lost love will fade, But the memory of having loved will last forever.
