Thank You Dear Father

My strength had left me, my courage was gone,
fear did surround me, how would I move on..
The shadows of darkness consumed all my days,
my fight had begun to search for new ways.
My heart filled with pain, along with despair,
I had taken for granted what was always there.
He gives us a gift, the gift of our time,
He gives us this life to master our climb.
He gives us His love, no questions asked,
His patience, His guidance, is no easy task.
He lives in our hearts, we are not alone,
too often we forget how His light brightly shone.
We are His children, He cries for our tears,
He holds our hands when we face all our fears.
And all He asks is to love One and all,
to not judge another when they seem to fall.
He gives us the tools at the time of our birth,
to be good to all of those roaming the earth.
And when we do stray off the path of His dream,
He is still there to mend our broken seams.
He won't turn away His children of light,
in times of turmoil and the dark side of life.
The little word "faith" is a gift that He gave,
in times of great need to reclaim all He made.
He gives us small miracles in everyday too,
in a smile, in a hug, a child's laughter sings through.
Despair may find us through this lifetime of ours,
but God is here with us to heal all our scars.
I thank you dear Father for guiding my way,
and the gifts you give freely, always and today..
