His Extraordinary Mind

The first time ever that I read
His lovely verse of poetry
His genius in the floating phrase
Completely overpowered me

Extraordinary is the mind
To voice the truth in mellow ways
And sing so sweetly to my ear
With gentle touch and splendid phrase

The tempered wisdom of his writing
Fell my spirit to the ground
Engulfing it in lyric's pleasure
Immersing me in its surround

A syntax of a different hue
And words that meet with heaven's accord
A melody to please the heart
Harmonious strings of coupled word

So now I sit and wait each morrow
To be consumed by feathery phrase
His mind has brought the sun to shine
Upon the future of my days

I only wish this were written about me.  Good read, Liz.  I'm sure the individual you are speaking of will be very flattered.

Elizabeth,
I cannot catch up with the past.
I am too slow to catch its cast.
But I can build us a future bridge.
On a phantom ship of a new voyage.
And if I must sail on cloud nine.
Please come up and see me sometime.
Love ya,
Sy

Denise,
Thank you , dear

Sy

I am so afraid of heights
I get unnerved at flying kites
So please don,t sail on clouds so high
Wait til I learn how to fly
I'll sail with you on sailing ship
To take a little pleasure trip
Love ya,
Liz

Oh what would become of the heart were it not for poetry?
Such gracious verse...
