***I wrote this for my sister-in-law***
I watched you grow
From a little child
With teeny toes
And a great big smile
Into a bright young woman
Trying to face her fears
And trying to do it alone
It brings me to tears.
I want so bad to hold you
And tell you what to do
And even though you're not me
There's a lot of me in you.
I watch you make the same mistakes
That I once made myself,
And each mistake's heavy weight
I bear with you as well.
I want so bad to hold you
And tell you through the night
That my dear I love you
And everything will be alright.
So please understand my anger
As I understand your blame
Because even though you're grown now
I want things to be the same.

Knowlege tempered by wisdom...Wisdom tamed by youth.

I know exactly how you are feeling here helpless, wanting to intercede and there is just not much you can do.
          Thanks enjoyed,

Nice meaningful poem. Sad sometimes that we have to experience this from people we love.

Probably the hardest thing in life is watching those we love make the same mistakes as we did. Great poem, Rob.

Very heartfelt tribute to your sister-in-law...I thought there for a minute this might be for ME, but as I read on, I thought no...(I'm your stepsister, I believe...)  hehe  This certainly deserves to go back to the top.....very warm and tender read.

A few days later and back to the top again.  A lovely heartwarming tribute!!

Very caring and meaningful piece RS. Well done.  Sometimes though, we have to learn by our own mistakes.
