Once upon a time,
There was a love so strong
That a single kiss could break any spell
Freeing any loss, forgetting any pain
Once upon time,
There was a fairytale
I wished would never end
But that was where the kiss ended
For now I can only say that
What we had so long ago
Only happened
Once upon a time

What happened to that embrace I so loved?
What happened to the prince I saw inside?
Once upon a time,
I would have died for you
Sealing out life together with a kiss
To break any spell that they may have given you
But now I stand in my lonely tower
Looking out through barred windows
Because I cannot forget what's happened
Once upon a time

I don't fault your heart for being so free
For if I were the true huntress you saw me as
I would know one simple truth
That if I truly loved you
I could let you go
And would wait with a flood of tears
Until my falcon came back to me again
But it was not to be
And so my heart flies with you
So that when I hear the magical words
And another fairytale
I will always remember what we had
Once upon a time

I will sit upon my throne
And bear the burden of the crown you gave me
Beside me, will be another empty throne
For the prince I have yet to meet
And when I look away,
Looking up and out at the stars
Forgetting the dragon you created
That forever guards my heart
I will always remember the knight
That I love
That I still love
Once upon a time

"Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness."

"Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things."
