I'm at the bottom looking up
It's the only way to go.
For down is not an option
When you're sitting on zero.
So give me empty for my cup
As toward the light I go
Cause it can't get any darker
When you're in darkness at zero.
I'm staring thoughtfully t'ward the sun
Upward climbing, you know.
Blindness not a worry here
You can see anything from zero.
And if I fall I'm worried not
As upward I go
For if I fall I know I will be
Saved by zero.

Seems to be a combination of bleakness and hope. Well done, and interesting

also reminds me of "I've been down so long it looks like up to me". Good thoughts.

Speaking of zero, we are about to enter the 2zerozerozero.  Maybe the only way you can go in this millenium will be up.

Shine a light and darkness disappears.

Me like.  It's a very nice combination.  Very lovely.

Less is more!...A good man once had one sheep.  He had time for love, care, attention, peace, contentment, everything.  He wished for more...He got 100 sheep - He now had none of the above but just the opposite, so it is in this world...Less is More!  The fastest horse is the lightest horse...In the desert, a loaded horse means certain death to him and his rider...More is less...

The Son of Man had no place to lay His head.

2000 coming up and you are at zero.  Guess there is only one way to go.

You know, you explained exactly how I feel sometimes when I'm discouraged...I go outside, and look up at all the dazzling stars in the sky...I too, feel like I'm on the "bottom" looking up...But it's a beautifully humbling experience, and it is then I see how wonderful it can be to be on "ground level".....that panoramic view someone mentioned is quick breathtaking....Try it - it helps.  You see everything from bottom...and don't take the beauty above for granted.  Great poem sir!!

Things are always better "looking up" no matter what.  Wise words.
