TRUE BEAUTY

True beauty within, some will never see
The duty of love is not cause for strife.
Your unappeased flesh spawns the misery,
Yet, Beauty has laid no curse on your life.

The duty of love is not cause for strife,
For Honor rises to heights all her own.
Yet, Beauty has laid no curse on your life,
Except blinding lust and a jealous bone.

For honor rises to heights all her own,
Blessed be any who find strength in God.
Except blinding lust and a jealous bone,
What else has your friendship offered but fraud.

Blessed be any who find strength in God,
For he who knows love shall stand above all.
What else has your friendship offered but fraud,
The very venom by which you now crawl.

For He who knows love shall stand above all,
For He who knows all shall stand on the truth.
The very venom by which you now crawl,
In sanctifying a curse held from youth.

For He who knows all shall stand on the truth.
Your unappeased flesh spawns the misery.
In sanctifying a curse held from youth,
True beauty within, some will never see.

It's the little things you take for granted,
That'll mean the most to you when they're gone.

What is this form called Michael?

Wow - this is excellent - and I think very true.
You have written such intricate lines and it requires multiple readings!

'For he who knows love shall stand above all'...great job indeed...

Severn, this form of verse is called a pantoum.  Scott actually introduced me to this type of poetry some time back.  In fact, this poem is a direct response to one of Scott's pantoums in Dark, "Cathartic Invective".  Glad you enjoyed it, you too Dark Angel.

Did I actually get the feet right, Nan?  I hate having to look up words, and you know I can't tell just by sounding them out...that's why I hid during workshop.  LOL

Glad you enjoyed anyway, you too Chris, Caroline and PdV.

Fabulous read, and what a powerful statement you made here!  Bravo!  I had read this a couple of times already, and somehow failed to reply!  So here I am, your princess in waiting, rescueing it from pg. 7 !!  LOL   Tis a bold and powerful statement indeed!!!   Thank you - you are my hero...

True beauty indeed, I must add though the writer must have true beauty inside to write something this lovely
Glad you pulled it back from page 7 PFF
