Clandestine Moon

In year one
I pledged
to see the moon
shining proudly
to bring us unity
but it shivered
behind clouds of winter

In year next
I promised
again my eyes
but still vexed
was the moon
lost in a shroud
of grey haze

In year last
I lingered
aching for the
slice of moonlight
that belongs
only to us
but the moon
is yet obscured

and the mist
begins to rain
drops fall like
tears from
the eyes of saints
in each December's
search for
her

She is elusive
as you are
from my gaze
secluded behind
that which I cannot
reach or remove
Enigmatic
Mysterious
Unknown

Wonderful!

Lovely!  Do you need any more people to tell you that fact?
