Tell me,
Tell me I can overcome these obstacles I see.
Assure me,
Assure me that of these dreaded chains I will soon be free.
Enlighten me,
Enlighten me to the fact that I'm whom you wish me to be.

For there is only one thing I wish to say,
And that is, that I want you to stay.

So whether there is risk or not,
Your delicate love is what is sought.
In your warm embrace is where my heart wishes to lie,
And when the day comes, it's where it wishes to die.

So love me, risk or not,
For once again.... it's my heart your love has caught.

Mark, just be yourself, and she will see what a wonderful man you are. Lovely poem.

She's a lucky man Mark, if she's smart she'll hang on tight!  Good poem!

This is beautiful...Have you shown her this poem?  If not, you should...If you have, what did she say?  (just being curious)

Thanks everyone.  It's at times like these that your every last encouraging comments heal my wounds.  My "Family" here at passions has done nothing less than make me appreciate the good things that I have in my life.  Thank you all again.  And Echo Rhayne in response to your curious question, no I haven't.  I feel that sometimes I just write for myself.  Thanks though..

I too have echoed the words you began your first stanza with....some would say I'm very skeptical, and don't take risks..."Tell me...assure me...enlighten me..."  Very powerful although subtle.  I can sense the urgency in your writing/tone.  As someone else said earlier, she is a very lucky lady, and hopefully knows just how crazy you are about her - if she doesn't, tell her!!   I want to say a big gracious thank you for your heartfelt replies to my work too.  I hadn't seen much of you for quite some time...You're kind of "quiet".....LOL   Glad to see you back, reading and sharing with your family here.....(grin)     Hope to see much more from you!  I used to kind of keep up with you - but WHEW what a job that was!  ROFLMAO   (just kidding)
