Isn't this like the start of any relationship, I can feel your tentativeness.

Sir Balladeer:  He who hesitates is lunch... so if you don't want to be eat by the moster of doubt ya gotta jump!  In or out it makes no matter which, but if you stand at the door to long its going to slam in your face and you're going to be squashed like a grape.
Now, if none of this info is of any concern and this is a poem for the sake of itself... I must say that you've once again written one fine piece of poetry.  As alway my friend, I bow to you and yours.

Have to agree with Andrew on this one.  Seen one too many lonely men walking down the street mumbling "could haves and should haves".  I like the verse and understand your points, the other side just seems far more appealing to me.

hmmmm I almost missed this gem...and knowing your penchant for twists at the end..I was expecting a knock-knock joke

But its awesome poetry, you know...and doors that are a way in are also a way out when necessary. I hate the sound of a deadbolt, myself

Awfully well writ, Balladeer.

Fictional?  Fantasy?
Will you please just walk in?
If not, I'll give you a boot!

I stand here just a step away
From everything you pledge
And yet it seems to me I may
Be standing on a ledge

And again, here I am lost in your poems.

This one I had to rush off to send to someone... Thank you for writing long ago what I can't find the words to express now.
