The only cure for loneliness-
Is not to be alone.
And if a soul is homesick-
The only cure is home.

Only warmth will drive the chill
Bring comfort to a room...
And only love will serve to end
The brokenhearted’s gloom.

Only peace can cause a house
To be a place of rest.
And only marriage built on trust
Can stand life’s strain and stress.

A word of comfort’s meaningless
If  you do not speak it-
And hope will die upon the vine
Unless we rise to seek it.

Apathy will drive one mad-
So, pray, do not despair...
For somewhere in this world of ours
There's someone who will care.

You can also cure lonliness by tuning in to the Passionate Poets web site. If you have something that fills your spirit with delight, being alone is a lot less lonely, though nothing can take the place of a warm embrace. I lke your thoughts.

Your feelings are mutual my friend

Gunslinger, This is a beautiful, heartfelt poem. Simple wisdom, clearly stated--lovely. Thank you.
