It was the nighttime of my soul,
scattered among the memories
of broken dreams and promises,
where no one ever sees,
the painful longing in my eyes
as I stand alone and search
the ever changing skies..
looking for the one who can,
gather together
this drifting man.

And if I find it not, I will
pull from within my soul,
the pieces of the puzzle that
again will make me whole.
And though my life is darkened still,
it is only twilight..
my eyes adjust to the loss of you,
as my soul begins it’s fight,
to step into the future where,
the world I again can face…

But beside me there will always be,
a small and lonely space.

This is beautifully done, as usual, PdV...
My experience is that a search such as this one invariably leads directly back to ourselves... and the answers come from within....

Nice work, my friend....

Poet deVine -

This is just lovely.
What a nice poem to find greeting
me this morning.

Seeking, searching ... great introspection.

Oh PDV...this speaks so loudly to my heart. I could have written the same words, although probably not as eloquently as yourself. Wonderful work my friend

Another great one PDV (do you need a hug now)

Some poems just seem to flow off the tongue as if a ripple of wind across a field of ripened wheat under a harvest moon. Such as this.

Aww! Devine this is sadly wonderful!  May that little empty space be filled soon!
Absolutely terrific!

Very fine poetry indeed PdV - I enjoyed its enormous lyrical power. Few poets would be strangers to its message I think.
Well done!

Your way to write sadness
Looks like happyness
A lonely space how suiting it's spot
I read it twice right on the dot
A Tear runns down lost in space
Giving your words a chase
Nice. Thank you
