Dear poet friends it is with sorrow I tell you that I heard from Michael's brother Terry this morning, and he informed me that our beloved "Deer" has now been moved to Room 341 in Palliative Care, at the VA Medical Center in Miami.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I've learned a few things from this man. Considering he is the ultimate republican and one heck of a debater. Not that I ever went up against him..he always stood firm in his beliefs and I admire that so much. He is entertaining and informative and stayed true to himself.

The latest information is that Fran,and friends, are with him through the transition. Just pray for a peaceful release.

I just got this from Terry, Michael Mack's brother, so Balladeer's humor is still in tact that is for darn sure.

"Hi Sharon I just got a message from Elizabeth (this is Michael's daughter.) She's down at the hospital in Miami. Dominique, Michael’s other daughter came in for the day and when Donnie walked in the room Mike looked up and said, “You must be one of my wives”? Donnie says, “No I'm your daughter.” They both started laughing.

God I'm so sorry to hear about this Sharon. Thanks for letting us know about Balladeer. I've always loved his work and will send some thoughts and prayers to sunny Florida for him.

Hi there, I wanted to give you a quick update on our dear Balladeer (Michael Mack on Facebook.) They are keeping him as comfortable as they possibly can in hospice, but that is all they are able to do now. His family have mostly been there to visit him. (Elizabeth Mayberry on Facebook,) who is his daughter, has posted selfies with her Dad on his and her page on Facebook that show his health is quickly declining I am afraid. I am just so grateful this poet's words made it me, and our paths crossed in joy and laughter along with other poets when we all met. I am also so thankful to you Ron, for keeping the archives up and running. I wish him only comfort, and peace, as I am sure all you you do too.

Parting is truly such sweet sorrow. I never met Balladeer but his presence on these blue pages is huge. I'm so sorry and so sad..go in peace good poet. My prayers go out to you.
