Today I received the following notice from Jane, wife of David White (deleeme):

quote_________________________________________________

David White met his Savior face to face at 11:00 this morning, after a brief but difficult battle with cancer.  I am very sad, but rejoice that David has left his disease behind and is even now beginning a joyful eternity.

There will be a memorial service Sunday at 2:00 at the Greater Springfireld church of Christ, on Montgomery Street in Chicopee MA  I know that most of you will not be able to attend because of time and distance considerations, but please pray that God may be glorified in this celebration of His goodness in David's life.

David had shared pictures of the snow and happiness found in his marriage to Jane as well as her writings for their church paper.

His poetry posted on PIP:

I am so very sorry to hear of David's passing, as I did not even know he was ill.  His poetry in the Spiritual Forum and Corner Pub will be sadly missed by so many of us.  Thank goodness we will be able to meander through the halls of the Archives to keep his memory and spirit alive.  He was a long time member since 1999, and contributed so much to this site, in thought and prayer. The poem below is one of his I truly enjoyed.

Sincerest condolences to his wife Jane, and family.  May his journey to a better place be a wonderful one, and everlasting peace be his now.

Thanks for posting this Rae, he will be missed until I see him one day again.

His family and friends will be in my prayers Rae. I went in and found one of his poems, posted earlier this year and brought it to the front page in Spiritual. His voice will be missed.

I'm very very sad to hear of my friend David's passing, but, at the same time, very very happy in knowing that he's finally made it home and that one day we’ll finally meet.

God bless and, also, my prayers go out to David's friends and family,

-Bob

I didn't know David, but it's always sad when a member of the blue pages has shut his final book. I'll keep his wife and family in my thoughts.

David was always so kind and gracious to me. This news saddens me greatly - but earth's loss is surely heaven's gain. My deepest sympathies to his family.

David was always very nice when he responded to poetry that I posted.  I hope that my responses to his gave him half as much pleasure as he gave me.  My heart goes out to his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jane and David's brother, Dennis, our fellow PIP member, at this most difficult of times.

Thank you, Nan for placing David on the Remember page.

I hadn't known he was ill, either, so the announcement of his death was a shocked me also.
