Ok, here's what happened on my mom's birthday:

At Sunday one of my sisters and her daughter came to visit her unexpectedly, which was a big surprise. At Monday one of my nieces came to visit Mom and we ate Pizza's.

Then on Thuesday I took her on a little trip to Belgium. She was a bit tired due to all the visitors, so we decided not to go too far.

The sun was shining and after puting her in the van, we were all set to go.

We drove along the small roads (in hope sometimes we wouldn't encounter another car, because there was just not room enough to pass by) and Mom and I enjoyed the scenery. She's always amazed by the many shades of green in the landscape.
Around noon we found a little parking place with a nice view to eat our lunch.

She wasn't very hungry but ate a croissant anyway.

So, after two hours we drove home again and I put her in the wheel chair and drove her by all the habitants to treat them on a nice wedge of cake and then I put Mom to bed, so she could have a nice nap.

She still can't believe that she's 99 years old now.

I showed her all your good and lovely whishes and she showed them to everyone we came across. She was really thrilled by all the kindness and friendship shown.

So now she hopes she'll reach the 100, let's keep our fingers crossed she will succeed.

What a lovely way to celebrate her birthday! Must have pleased her so much, being out in this beautiful world seeing all the shades of green again.

She looks so young, I would never guess she was 99 years. She looks beautiful, all dolled-up, and so happy! What a nice outing, and great pictures. A happy birthday for Mommy Muys indeed.

When my Mother-in-law turned 99...she couldn't believe it either! She is so very fortunate not only to have a loving daughter and family, but one that knows how good it is to "get out with them" and give them all of the benefits they enjoyed when they were younger!

Belated Happy Birthday! What a young 99! The trip and visitors certainly must have made this a joyful celebration. Cake and all.

Thank you, dear Titia, for this lovely post. Mommy Muys is such an elegant lady and no she really does not show 99!

Beautiful pictures, much enjoyed.

May she be well, enjoy life and safely cross the 100 years. Her looks promise very well!
