To any of the wonderful folks in "P.I.P.-land" ...
friends of the grand-fine Ms. 'Midnitesun' [Kathleen Stafford] ...
who did not yet know this ... sadly, Kacy passed away last
night from the attendant complications of colo-rectal cancer ...

another fine poetic 'voice' for Gaia and a 'light' for humanity
has gone out in this ever-darkling world.

she will be sorely missed, but her spirit and 'voice' grandly
celebrated and fondly remembered.

Bruce, I am saddened beyond words with this news of our beloved Midnitesun's passing. Kacy fought bravely and with dignity right to the very end. I have tremendous respect for her as a person, her spirit, her talent, and her wisdom. We may have one less Shining Star here on Earth, but there has been one more added to the Universal skies.

Kacy, you are loved and you will be sorely missed.

Love & Eternal Light,

Damn, this is hitting me hard. I was working on Marge's moon poem book (which brings back so many memories) and had to look something up and saw this message. I'm in tears now. Why do all the good people have to die before their time.

I hope Kacy is finding her way to Marge up there, at least that's what I like to think.

Wishing all the best to the family, keeping them in my thoughts.

Love, Titia

Thank you, dear Bruce, for letting us know, I had in mind to write to you to know if you had some news. Now my heart is deeply saddened and I will miss her tremendously. But I know her soul is soaring high now, may the Angels guide her back home to the heavenly realms, where she will be celebrated and welcomed warmly.
She has shown us the purity of her spirit and her sense of justice which made her write masterful poetry.
Dear Kacy it is surely too soon for your loved ones, but the connection will continue on soul level.
Together with other beloved friends from Pip who have moved on you will continue to be present on these blue pages with your wonderful poetry and your spirit will dance with ours along the emotions that we all express here in our poems.

(((((((((Kacy Midnitesun)))))))))
You will plant the most beautiful garden up there and your little birdy friends will sing for you the tunes of universal love.

Dear Bruce,

It's alway sad to lose a dear friend like Kacy.  Kacy and I posted on the original Internet poetry page over ten years ago.  I will miss her.

She is forever my Alaskan sister ~ dancing with the Aurora, flying with the wind as it gently bends fireweed in bloom, in each beautiful snowflake that falls on the spruce trees - she touched me and she has become part of my daily world.

You are in my heart, Kacy.

Terrible news.
Tears.
Never mind we knew this was coming.
Just terrible news.
More tears.
Never mind we knew one another only in this limited way.

Another PIPer that I will never meet and greet in the flesh - the tragedy of this electronic living - wrenching!

My condolences to her family and her much loved Sara.

Kacy and her loving words will be missed.

I am saddened beyond words.  She made me think, laugh, cry, and laugh so hard I cried.  I loved having her and Sara stay with me before they moved from Alaska back down to Oregon.  I am just so glad she got back where she wanted to be before she decided to leave us.  She has left an imprint of love in her words, as well as her friendship.  I will truly miss her strong opinions, and wonderful sense of humor.

Can you please have Sara email me, as I would like to check in with her and see if she needs help or support.

Namaste' Good lady, I will truly miss you.

Dearest Kacy and family:

It was in the land of the Midnitesun
that we learned how to fill time
with the glories of a shared rhyme
and all of our futures, yet undone.

A scenic world in Rembrandt prose
seen from windows, totally clear
in brilliant blues, written by our Dear
Midnitesun: gently held in your throes

I think of how there cannot ever be
a fresh-faced word from her pen
or her delightful photos ever again
and it leaves us in thoughts of misery.

But your mark glows like Midnitesun
within our souls- fondly remembered
of your cold land:  forever Decembered
Your warmth has made us forever young.

Our Midnitesun will be sorely missed within our blue walls.  She was a lovely lady with a wonderful poetic heart.  I am always saddened to have to make additions to our memoriam page, but equally honored to pay such tribute to our departed family.  I'll need more information on Kacy to add her.  Can anyone email me some info?  Bruce?  Sharon?

Feel free to check out http://remember.netpoets.net to see what we've done for others.  Anyone who wants to contribute can send me info at nan@nansmorsels.com - Thank you in advance.

Kacy - Rest peacefully, dear lady - You're dearly loved.

I came back in here just wanting it all to have been a horrible nightmare - but, of course it wasn't.  I knew there would be so many beautiful tributes - Karen, you are so so right, what a beautiful, beautiful tribute - Alison too, everyone.  My condolences to all of the Pipsters who knew - sorry, know - her because I am one of you who knew, loved, respected, and appreciated Kacy and her wonderful spirit and art.

I am happy for her that she is at peace now, but the wrench out of our hearts is very difficult to bear.

I am still in a bit of shock over Kacy's passing.  It is so hard to bid farewell to the "original hippy" friend who entered into my life.  She was a joy. Always full of surprises, opinions, stances, and firm convictions.  I adored her.

I have emailed her daughter, Sara, but haven't heard back.  Kacy and Sara only had each other to depend on.  So, if you are so inclined pray for Sara to find all the strength she will need to get through this grief alone.  They, like my son and me, those two were joined at the heart, and always will be.  It must be so hard to lose your other half.

Rest in peace Kacy. God's blessings upon you and Sara always.
