Hey folks. A dear childhood friend of mine is trying to raise money for his sister's lung transplant.

I promised I would post her story every place that I could.

Please remember them. I almost lost my sister three weeks ago, so I feel their struggle sharply.

Dear Heather, I do hope and pray that Ashley Tanner will be given the opportunity to have her lung transplantation as soon as possible.
This is really a nightmare.

I appreciate you taking the time to read the article. The situation is so desperate. Chris is a fantastic guy. I've known them since they were kids.

The cost of one medication is $5000!!! What does one do?? She's dying...they say the lungs may give her 7 more years. She's only 39.

With friends like you he might just reach that goal

If all his friends are posting this everywhere, it can only bring good things their way. Living in Canada, we don't have the expense you do down there, but we share the same anguish. I will certainly wish your friend and his sister well.

This is heart-warming and heart-breaking. Chris is a very special man and his sister is also pretty danged special.

I am uplifted by pieces of the article - and I hope that Ashley receives the surgery and is able to regain her life.

I am heartbroken by this:

What an admirable young man ~ What a courageous woman and what a MOVING story.

I can totally understand you wanting to get the word out. They need all the help, support, and prayers that they can get.

Thank you all for your kind and loving responses!

I think that their story is one that deserves to be told. Maybe I am just a silly goose, but I took some time this evening to email the Oprah show.

I know it's a long shot, but I had to try. Her show takes up causes all the time, and there are so many facets to their plight.

Wish me luck guys. Wouldn't that just be a miracle...
