The other day I got an email...

from someone who works at The American Printing House for the Blind, a not for profit agency.

She's working on an atlas for students with visual impairments and for the unit of The Netherlands, she asked if she could use one of my photos of my very rare and old Dutch sheep breed, the Drenthen Heathsheep.

And of course I gave her permission to use it and donated a license for this photo for the life of this atlas (5 to 10 years).

It appeared that this lady and I had contact before (two years ago) about my Drenthen Heathsheep and her beautiful rugs, made from sheep wool.

So...sometime next year a photo of mine, will roam the States on a beautiful mission.

Good for you!  If you type "drenthen heathsheep" on google, guess who is first on the list? ((^*))

Absolutely beautiful photos - I can't take a good picture worth a darn!  I loved the "Lights Out" and love the new dogs Titia!  Border Collies are a favorite of mine.

Wow, am I glad Sharon posted the site.  The past 1/2 hour I spent on it was delightful.  Congratulations, Tita.  I can see why they'd want to use your pictures.

PS  I loved the story of how you got your sheep, too.

Titia,

I couldn't tell which I liked better, the cats, the dogs or the sheep.  I really love your photography and marked the page in my Favorites so I can visit again.

Thanks all for the comments and for taking a peek at my pet galleries. Here's the link to all my galleries on Pbase. http://www.pbase.com/lookheretitia

They will send me a pdf file of the Dutch section when it is finished, because the whole atlas will cost about 300US$. Don't know how it will be distributed. I think it will only be available in the special schools for those who have vision impairments.

Titia, I am in your gallery all the time I always wished that it was a calendar - that I would love!  You sure have an eye for the unusual, and also for detail.  My son often looks at your work as he loves photography as well, so thank you for sharing it on the internet.

For those who want to take a peek: I do make calenders and you can find them here. http://lulu.com/titiageertman
But I still have to make the new ones for 2009, which I will do a.s.a.p.
