You will all be in our thoughts and prayers as Gustav and Hanna make their way towards the coastlines of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi & Alabama. I sincerely hope that all precautions will be taken and that all of you will be safe.

Thanks, Sunshine!

I just went to the store for batteries and some bottled water. It was awful i there!

Last night I waited in line for 30 minutes to fill up my gas tank.

I am scared but have a plan already.

My heart and my prayers are with all who are in Gustav's path. If you are, I hope you've evacuated and don't read this until your safe return. God be with you, keep you safe and bless you and yours. I sit here in California on a warm blue-sky clear day and feel guilty. So soon after Katrina did her devastation it's just not fair.

God be with you all, and you certainly have my prayers.

K - up is good!

I'm not home and unfortunately just caught this news on CNN.  I am again worried sick about our friends down there.  I know if Karen were here she would direct us to NOLA to keep informed, well for as long as it is displaying on the internet anyway.

Thanks Kari for posting this, they need all the prayers they can get on this one.  Time to find a home place to live I am thinking?

Thank you for calling Karen, Mysteria.  Thank goodness that nobody is home and she said she would be some place UP.

Praying very, very hard for you all, not just for your safety, but that Gustav and Hanna dissipates as soon as possible as Karilea so wisely suggested.

If you're in the path - evacuate - if it downgrades and you feel foolish so what - but if it maintains the course and the severity it has now - you'll be ok. Moving to hurricane country 4 years ago taught me it's better to be SAFE than sorry.

You are all in my prayers. Let us know how you are afterwards ok? Check in!

God be with you.

Well they are still picking people up until 3:00 today, so that extension will help I guess.

At times like these, doesn't it just make you feel so very small in the scheme of things in our world.  Mother Nature is one force we can't control and probably never will.

I see the world as we know it changing radically not only in its shape, but in the climatic living conditions.  Places I visited when young are so changed, and the shorelines so different.  I recall my Mother when I was young saying that very same thing to me.  I never thought I would see a day when people were buying air-conditioners in Vancouver that is for sure!

Sorry, I actually tend to ramble when worried. This time, this one really scares the bejillies out of me, and I am sure glad they started evacuation earlier.

What a small world it truly really is when there is pain to share.  I want you to meet my Grand Dad Peter, he is now a friend of mine that lives in Europe that I, and hundreds of others, have grown to love through YouTube.  This is his reaction to what is going on in the gulf coast.  Peter is one of the "Zimmers" the senior musical sensation that is taking the world by storm, but more importantly he is a remarkably wise, and wonderful human being I enjoy listening too.  He is known as geriatric1927 and has almost 48,000 subscribers, and over 2 million people having viewed the videos he shares from his heart.

Temptress, I am glad you and your cat are safely home again - and thank you for looking after the safety of your kitty person.  Please give your him/her lots of hugs and strokes and kisses from Auntie Di, and friendly meeows from Tigger the tabby, and friendly woofs from Daisy the Maltese poodle - all of us from sunny South Africa.

Keep safe everyone from Hanna, Ike and Josephine and any more of their friends-and-relations.
