This is for any of you who may want a chuckle @ my expense( I may have had a few @ some of yours ).To provide a little backround, in the poetry workshop
I have kind of appointed myself "chief thorn in Balladeers' side". During a recent assignment I blatantly confused imagery with simile for which I now find myself in the unenviable culinary position of dining on one rather large platter of crow ( and no, it doesn't taste like chicken ).
Uh, would someone please pass the humility, I believe I'll have some of that also.

Doc,
You ARE the man! A wuss wouldn't have the guts to grab a plate let alone ask for an additional serving.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry ol' buddy, "if the bird fits, eat it"
or something along those lines. I don't mind having it handed to me, as long as it's deserved an' this one's been a long time comin'. Be well my poetic friend.

I've known a few chickens AND a few crows, as well as a few buzzards in my time, Doc...

and I think 'Deer would miss the thorn in his side, even if the metaphor seemed more like a simile.

Alison,
Probably so, although I prefer a halfway decent bourbon ( it softens the feathers better ).
Doc

Sunshine,
Thank you. I've been riding pretty high for a while, does a man good to get taken down a notch or so once in a while. Thanks for stoppin' by.

That's funny.  I first typed bourbon - but then changed it.  I figured while you were eating the crow, I'd polish off the bottle.

Someone asked me recently if I was getting tired of the thorn in my side and I said, "Nah, I'd miss the little, er, pain ."

Sunshine is right. The place just wouldn't be the same  without  you. Your gaff just proves that even a moose  can be  human
