Hi all,

My sister Colleen had a breast cancer scare about a month ago but was told she was in the clear, that her masses were calcium deposits.

Unfortunately she learned just yesterday (and I late last night) that the tests (or the doctors) were wrong. She does in fact have breast cancer and they fear it has spread to her lymph nodes and other parts of her body.

She is having an MRI today (as I write this in fact) to determine if it has spread or not. If it has, she will have to have radical surgery and chemotherapy.

If it has not, they hope to control it with radiation.

I am scared to death of losing my sister and I beg you all for your thoughts and prayers.

She's in our prayers. So many cancers are being handled today better than ever before. Second opinions are always good, even third opinions can offer up new options.

We will hold her close, m'friend.

My sisters MRI did not show anything scary ... however they are still worried about her lymph nodes.
She met with her oncologist today and will meet with her radiologist tomorrow.
Once they have the result from her lymph nodes biopsy (which is scheduled for May 2nd)
they will know how exactly they will approach treatment.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Irie,
Your sister is in my thoughts and she will also be in my prayers. I will be thinking of her throughout the next few months. I will be participating in a Relay for Life 24 hour walk in Second Life in July and I will also have her and many others in my thoughts throughout that event.

May God bring her peace and healing. Stay strong for your sister and cherish each moment with her. Don't lose hope. Godbless!

Greetings All,

My sister is holding up well and is FINALLY going in to have her lymph node biopsy this Wednesday. (don't know why in prey tell they made her wait so long). I pray it has not spread there or she will be in serious trouble.

Anyway, after the results come in, we will know what kind of shape she is in and how radical treatment will need to be.

A couple of days ago I was listening to the local radio here and one of the morning crew has started a team to race a 5K to raise breast cancer awareness and money to support research and women in need of assistance.
So long story short, I joined the team and will be racing for a cure in Seattle!

Kellie, where in Washington are you? And can you tell me more about this 24 walk?

Thank you ALL so very much for your continued support and prayers.

I am currently living in Mukilteo, its up near Lynnwood/Bothell.

The walk is going to be a ton of people across the world walking virtually for 24 hours to raise money and awareness for Cancer. Its a relay for life event. It works because we have to walk our avatars around for 24 hours. Its really a great thing, I will send you more information via an email response to the one I received from you.

She is still in my prayers.

Kellie
