On A Journey To The Unknown

0 posted 2008-03-27 09:27 PM

Hi everyone. I had to take my dad to the hospital, yesterday. At frist they thought he might be having a heart attack. But, after doing some tests, they found out he has a bad gallbladder. They also said there was a tumor on his right kidney. Today, we were told that it deffinately looks like cancer on his right kidney. So, when they do the surgery, it will be major surgery we were told. We don't know right now, when they are going to do the surgery. There are 4 different doctors that have to decide when to do the surgery. My dad is a diabetic, too. Even though he isn't letting on, I know he is worried. So am I. Please, pray for my dad.

Oh, Sue, when it rains, it pours sometimes problems as well as salt.

My prayers are being offered for your dad, your mom and you, too.  What a trying time this must be.

God bless,

Thank you all for your prayers, and for being there. We found out today that they can't do the surgery to take the gallbladder and the kidney out, yet, because the artery to the other kidney has some blockage. So, they are going to have to get rid of that blockage, which they will do Wednesday, before they can do anything about the gallbladder and his other kidney.

I looked for an update today, again.
This has to be difficult for your mom, too.
May our Lord guide each one through this difficulty.

  God bless,

They still haven't done the surgery, yet. The doctor had my dad come to the office, first. The doctor didn't tell dad that he needed to stop taking the Plavix he has been taking, only the coumadin. Well, when dad went to the doctors appointment Tuesday, that is when the doctor told dad that he would have to be off of the Plavix, too, for atleast 5 days. So now, it will next week before they do the surgery. The doctors office will call to let dad know when. We do know that, when they do the surgery, both, his gallbladder and kidney will be taken out. Why they have put it off so long, I don't know. I am not too fond of this hospital. And, the doctors aren't impressing me any, either. In my opinion, when a person has cancer, you don't wait around. I am so worried about my dad. I wish they would hurry up. Thank you all for your prayers and support. It's not over yet.

Still with you gal.  Keep up the good work, you sound strong, and even as I know you probably don't always feel like it, that's exactly what we know.  Hugs and prayers to all your family through this difficult time.
