what really gets me is that I have no confi
dence in anything about that site...It is all
so fake....not a thing I see appears real.

The interview comments, references to people
and their actions, etc...it is all part of a
big game...

It may be that being in India they feel they are beyond any plagiarism laws. Then again, some people just have no scruples.

Okay, my nine poems that were stolen there have been deleted.

Obviously, there are many pages of stolen works that the administrators of that site have yet to respond to in earnest, but I'm optimistic justice will eventually be served in full.

Again, we wholeheartedly thank you, Marge!

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

Midnite, pretty brazen!  I've seen posts in there that have the author's name IN the title  "BY KERRI"  lol ... and duets with various members here .. IN the title .. it's amazing.  They've done the same thing to poets from a site called apkafuture (i think that's the right spelling) .. they used direct links WITH the site name in them.

I was more than a little angry about it when I first heard about and saw that mess, even though none of mine were there ... but after reading through the titles, I was still mad but having giggle fits, 'cause really, what kind of moron doesn't change the titles and/or identifying names when they plagiarize stuff??  They've done a dirty rotten thing, but they did make it easy for us to find the things that needed to be deleted lol

Not only that, but often at the beginning of poems I post, I include a little preface, or introduction, that explains what inspired the poem I'm sharing, and the individual(s) who copied and pasted my poems there actually included the prefaces in the postings, LOL!

I'm not going to resort to name-calling and accuse the individual(s) of being lunkheads or anything, and I'm certainly NOT with any trace of fiber in my being EVER going to perform, nor encourage, plagiarism of any sorts, but, pretending any of us were an accomplished plagiarizer, wouldn't you want to show more tact and actually re-name the title of the poem, change a number of words in the verse to synonyms of them, etc if your aim was for the individual you're stealing from never to find out about it?

I'm certainly upset someone even attempted to steal nine of my works, but all the same I've found this whole episode amusing more than anything.

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

I'm at the laughing stage now...

first, there's no date on any of the posts to know when they were "originated" on the site [or at least none that I have found so far].

Secondly, I wonder if they even know what a "soddy" is.

And, I see that they have removed the "contact us" button.  I've also uncovered some others:

Wow there are entire pages of stolen poetry - I gave up after about 12 or so, there are too many there.  Too bad they just don't remove the poetry section and start again.

Hey Folks,

As of 5am this morning, I couldn't find any access to the poetry part of totalmasala, except for funny poetry.

Now, it could be my computer, because I was crashing every five minutes, so could someone verify that?

I'm so proud of the unified defense launched by our family at PIP.

Perhaps now, we can get back to writing our poetry.

Hugs,
TD

TotalMasala may have done just that! No sign of Poetry world 2 minutes ago...
GRIN
Still, we must keep an eye on this one, as it's quite possible those we cannot translate are also stolen. But no more Pipster poetry is visible!

The ones that we cannot translate were indeed stolen, but not from us.   They were stolen from a mainly Islamic poetry forum found at www.apkafuture.com. (Those morons linked directly to that site lol) I browsed through and found many of the foreign titles, and all of the English ones that didn't belong to us as well, so registered there and left them a message to let them know too a couple days ago -- then emailed the company that hosts totalmasala's webspace and let them know as well, since I haven't had the time to go through many of the posts and bump them to help the others that were working so diligently

I can't get into the poetry world link anymore either   I'm so glad that all your poetry has been removed from there!

The entire Poetry World section is not there~

I have sent a note via Guru's Private messages that I greatly appreciate
the fact that the plagiarized poetry has been removed~

Once again, I want to say a great big THANK YOU to Steve/sewasham
... without caring poets like you ...
we would not have known of this plagiarized poetry~

Steve, I want you to know that I personally have saved one big *HUGLET* just for you~

To all of you who assisted in writing and reporting the plagiarized poetry
to the Admin staff at Masala, I thank you from the heart of my little bottom~

UNITED we succeeded !

The volume of plagiarized poetry never should have been placed there undetected by the Administration at the site (who by the way ACTIVELY participated in swiping our poetry and posting it there)
... and thank goodness it is now gone~

Everyone have a safe and wonderful upcoming Labor Day Holiday weekend~

LOL ... I could have sworn that we just DID LABOR DAY at that darned site ...
well, it sure felt like labor !!!

Mission accomplished! Thanks Marge, and all who took the time to address the piracy. I do think it was the combined efforts of everyone putting pressure on these people that finally got the job done. Take care poets and Have fun. Steve

I feel as though I just had an Alka-Seltzer! ~ and "Oh, what a relief it is!"

I, too, had written to totalmasala.com (via the contact button that no longer exists!) requesting that my posts be removed.

I am very grateful to Steve and Marge et al, who have done so much to right these wrongs.
As they say, "A (pip)family that sticks together ~ stays together!" ~ and I love this family of kindred spirits! One for all and all for one! Pip! Pip! Hooray!

Love to all,
Linda

And I have missed all the fun, but I'm not good at these things anyway, so my thanks too to all who've helped.
