Many areas of Florida were again struck with tornadoes, this time in the mid-of-night ... we actually heard the roar and dove for safety, but were spared destruction as friends right down the road were hit badly~

Have been busy checking on family and friends~
Right now our families and loved ones are counted for and are safe~

Keep everyone in prayer, please ...~

Marge. I came here to see if you had checked in.I was at work all night and well aware of what was happening, as I was checking people out from 1 a.m. on to catch plane flights home. They could not use I-4 because of the truck accidents. Five semi trailers were smashed there near 44. Then I saw the storm was going into Deland. There  was a tornado watch all night. Reported six to eight inches of rain last night, so flooding also involved. We were okay but worked from ten until 1 a.m with emergency lights and no switch board. Finally got that on about one in the morning. I was not aware of the severe tornado damages until I got home and the pictures and stories became to come up on television. CNN has good coverage as well as our local stations. I am so glad you are okay. This is one of the worst storms since I have lived here.

Deland has had a rough time between the Christmas storm and now this.  Take care,I know you will be busy as so many people were involved in this devastation. love to you, martyjo

My God ... the devastation is even worse, and more wide-spread, than the Christmas day storms~

At least 14 confirmed dead already ... search and rescue going on~

DeLand is in Volusia County ... our friends who live on Lake Beresford, just a mile away, are safe, but the windows were blown out of their home and the 18th century home next door to them was flattened~

More later ... keep the prayer vigil, there are SO many needing them right now~

Linda and I are fine -- we live just down 44 from Deland as it crosses into Lake County.  We also heard the roar of one (not sure if it was the same) and just lie in bed gulping in the dark as we have no shelter in our house.

The church building right by Linda's grandparent's house in Ladylake was completely demolished by a different one.  Was quite a night overall apparently.

Everyone we know is o.k. though.  Keeping up the prayers here as well.

It is literally heartbreaking out there~

Such wide-spread devastation as far as the eye can see~

Bill is out helping some friends down the street get trees off of their homes and helping them secure their property~

I don't even want to take photos, as it seems that it would be such an invasion of grief~

Everything you see on the News stations is, not only astonishing, it's even worse than it looks~

*sigh*
We both feel so blessed to have been spared,
and humbled at what we see others are having to go through~

I'm helping to prepare food ...
it seems so little ... but is so needed~

The Red Cross has been so quick to respond, so if you feel like you'd like to help (and know you can't be here to do so) ... you can make a donation to the Red Cross~

Thank God you and your family are safe Marge. I couldn't believe it when I heard tonight that Deland was one of the places hit hard. I came upstairs and got on the computer to see if you were okay.

Everyone in the areas hit will be in my prayers.

Gosh, I wish there were a better way of expressing how very sorry I am.  We have friends in Lady Lakes whove been trying desperately to get Ray and I to move there.  I pray they're okay, too.

Marge,
Thanks for checking in...when I heard the news I knew I had to stop by home here to make sure my fellow poets from Florida were safe. Thank God that you and your family and Michael and his family were spared and I'll pray for the others who were not as fortunate.

I feel every single tornado, hurricane, huge wind storm, etc. way up here, but then that is what family is for.  There was a time the news of one of these went right in one ear and out the other until the internet.  I don't know about you, but I am having a very hard time hearing about any more of nature's destruction.  I guess she is sending her message loud and clear worldwide now.

Stay safe, and I am just so grateful you are all safe and sound, and also pray for those that are not.  What a shock again!

Haven't been on for a few days, learned about the tornadoes just now.
Gosh Marge, and all others in the area, am I glad you are ok. That was a close one.
Thinking of you all and keeping my fingers crossed. Nature is going crazy. We have the stranged winter of all times. It's February and temps are so high that my roses are sprouting already. Haven't had any snow or real frost yet.

I'm really happy you're ok dear friend.
Hugs, Titia
