Well, finally the Dutch softball crew (including my youngest daughter Lynn Karijn) took off yesterday at 8pm local time. What an experience it must be for all those girls to play the World Championship Women's Softball in Beijing China.

Tomorrow they'll visit the big wall, then a week of training and on the 27th the games will start and go on till September 5th.

I hope she stays in one piece this time. She has had enough hits by pitch in Canada. Her ruptured ribs healed beautifully and she's all ready to play ball.

For anyone who's interested, here are some links. http://softballwomennetherlands.web-log.nl/  (with photos) and http://www.2006softball.org/  for the schedules and results.

Have fun, I know I will.

a proud Mom.

Wow! This is great, Titia

I know how proud you are of her - as you should be! Hopefully they won't be using her for target practice like those other teams did!

I wish the team all the best

Proud Mom, indeed! Heck, I'm even poppin' my buttons for Lynn's accomplishments!

This is all so exciting!

Prayers are being sent up for the whole team's safety ~ and some victories thrown in for good measure!

Here's a hug for each of you!

How wonderful!  Win or lose, she's a winner, probably because she has a Mom who is, also.

Thanks for sharing,

Titia, you can indeed be a very proud mother!  Not to mention that your daughter is getting one of the biggest educations she will ever want to achieve; coming together through games, and finding, in some way, a world's peace.
