Today at Noon the offical raising of the flag for the Olympics in 2010 was raised.  If you start saving your extra change now you will be ready to afford the fun here in Vancouver during the Olympics, and well worth the trip.  This is a fun city anyway, can't wait to see what this will bring to our city.  Here is a preview of what is here for you all.  It is dubbed one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I could be biased, but I tend to agree.

I sure hope you will enjoy this multimedia presentation when you get time as it will show you the beauty of Vancouver, British Columbia.  It truly is a wonderful city, in a beautiful province in Canada.  It is a mini-movie, with poetry and music for each of the special attributes of our city.

And of course Whistler Mountain/Blackcomb will be the sites of many events, and is party central!

Just kiddin' of course.....if your sister wins a prize, you're just as proud of her as you'd be of yourself if you had won.....and Canada is most definitely my own country's sister nation.

I am in Vancouver but just moved from the "heart of the action" because it is going to be nuts.  I moved further away now off the mountain where most of the games are going to be held as there are only two bridges that move people from Vancouver to the North Shore, where I lived, and even now the traffic sucks!  I imagine they will do fast ferries etc. for people flow, but I now live where I have a choice to go, or stay home and it is easy to get there from almost anywhere.

My place is full already with all the visitors I can accommodate.  These were smart folks who requested a room the day we got the bid for the Olympics.      However, I do know tons of other places that won't cost an arm and a leg though.  All my old neighbours are busy renovating their larger homes, and turning them into a make-shift bed and breakfast during the Olympics.

The festivities here today are pretty outstanding, and if this is just announcing it, whooo hooo!

I can hear you singing from your little bird house, Sharon.  Thanks so much for all the info. I haven't looked at it yet but will very soon.

Four years to prepare...
four years of excitement!

I am sure Vancouver will do its best
to outdo each and every winter event before...

as it should be!

Congratulations, Sister Canada!

Dear Mysteria:  What a wonderful time for Vancouver.  You're right about it being a beautiful and fascinating city. Some of my relatives are there so I may be able to weasel sleeping space from them! If I start begging now, that is!

I'm only a few hours from Vancouver and certainly hope we have the border problems all solved by that time.  I watched every bit of the the Olympics and will be even more fascinated when they are in our neighboring country.  Happy times.  Love, Joyce

My youngest daughter Lynn Karijn will be in Vancouver, not for the Olympics though, but this summer to participate in the Canadian Cup Softball. I think it's in June or July and then in August she will play World Championship in China.

Must be wonderful to have the Olympics in your back garden Sharon.

To those of you coming up this way, please email me, as it will be my pleasure to guide you through this fabulous city.

Titia, let me know where she will be playing, my family and I will sure go to see her!

Christopher, you little sweetcheeks, I always have a room with a view for you (if you bring that wee man and your wife, with you that is!)

Great Titia, Todd and I will certainly check it out, and try to find her, so show her my picture before she leaves for Vancouver.  I am not that far from Surrey really, so will be glad to give her a Vancouver knuffle.
