to the world my newest granddaughter, Emily Kathleen, who was born yesterday morning at 8:55 am. Mom and baby are doing well. My daughter Trisha won't be released until Tuesday since she had a C-Section.

Tell me my nerves weren't frazzled as I watched Trisha and Randy drive off in a driving snow storm to the hospital at 6 am for the scheduled surgery at 8:30 am. I found out afterwards that the doctor scheduled to do the surgery couldn't get to the hospital due to the bad weather, but luckily one of his associates was on hand and she did a fabulous job.

I'm real HAPPY!!!!!

Thanks, Nan!

This was Trisha's third, and last, sadly. They had to do a tubal ligation to prevent future pregnancies since she must have C-Sections and the doctor said three should really be the limit.

I wasn't enjoying the little tykes yesterday. I had Nicole (11), and Abigail (4), Emily's older sisters and Christian (6), Caroline's one and only. School was closed due to the snow storm and I have a bad cold (haven't seen the baby yet, hopefully today I will) and they all wanted me to cook something different for lunch, plus I was still waiting to hear if Trisha came out of surgery okay (I didn't hear anything until 11:30 since Randy didn't want to go outside to use his cell phone and leave Trisha alone in the Recovery Room. Would it be acceptable to smack him? ) Let me tell you, I was insufferable. They all had cold cereal for lunch. Hey, at least I fed them! And they still love me! I feel a little better now, though.

Oh, how I enjoy Miss Emily's name...you see, I have a Miss Emily too!  Can't wait to see photos, Denise!  And there's a reason they made us into grandmothers, you know...

it's so we can spoil them rotten and feed them chocolate just before we send them back to their parents!

Hug them warm and tight for all of us!

Thanks Karilea, I will! It is a precious name, isn't it?!

I don't have a scanner anymore so as soon as I get photos I'll have to mail them off to  someone to scan and post them for me.

Congratulations Denise!! Gotta love a new baby! (My granddaughter is Hannah Emily so she fits into the Emily-love group here).

Give the little one a kiss for me.

Congratulations! I have a great-grandaughter, Emily and I had 4 c-sections, too.  A birth is always so exciting.  One of my granddaughters is expecting her 2nd, following a miscarriage about 6 months ago. I was so happy when I heard about this, the tears rolled down my cheeks.  I have 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandbabies!

Thank you my friends! I don't think there is anything as exciting in life than experiencing a brand new life coming into it!

I was able to get to the hospital yesterday to see them. They are both doing great! I will be going to Trisha's house every day this coming week when she gets home (she's doing so well it might even be as early as Monday) to give her a hand since Randy doesn't have anymore time to take off from work. I'm really looking forward to it!
