time and the price of gentleness Born into the month of bitter falling, when every dying flower begs us hurry or dare the frost; how can a heart not feel the loss of even sunlight to winter's cascading dark? No graceful lilies sprang for you, no gentle wildflowers to blush your days away; the placid summer's excess never came, your flowers the mums and sometimes a hardy rose or two. Somehow they were enough, and though the thorns burn deep enough to scar, You bring the flowers home to warm a hearth with life, where fire will be needed all too soon. Time does these things to us, steals even gifts ungiven, reaves the price of life away in coin too precious to count. It is the heart that gives our only recompense, yet somehow, like the roses and the mums, it is enough. I am truly blessed... My internet time is very limited... and I log on to find this... Oh, wow... I know I could thank you better if I could see through the tears... or maybe not... for you've left me speechless. *S* With all my heart, I thank you... for this incredibly beautiful poem... and for a friendship that makes every day a celebration. And though I'm sorry for your discomfort yesterday, your posting today allows me to continue celebrating... yes! You and your great big heart have filled my heart to overflowing... Thank you... Firstly, a Happy-Day-After to one of the truest ladies I know~  Delaney and Landry love it when we find out about a birthday ... cause then we get to make our own little 'HAPPY CAKE'~ Sooooo, stretching this birthday of yours out another day will be OUR fun, SweetSuthernOne~ Now ... to Ed~ Shucks alive ... that is just plain beautemous !!! not only the season of falling leaves and vibrant mums...but also the time when the butterflies gather, turning wings towards the warm.  I know things are hectic now...but soon.... take a day just for you and look for butterflies on the beach.  |
