I have been dating an old friend for about a year now. By old friend I mean we go way back, (we went to primary school together) not some pensioner I picked up

Not long ago Col asked me to marry him!! I, of course, said yes. At this stage we don't have a definite date as we want to wait till Bec is home. I would hate it if my first born missed out on the celebrations.

I will let you know whats happening when it is arranged.

love,
Dee

Dee- Sincerest congrats, and here's my hope that you continue to see him as you do now when he is in his 80's.

Thanks for sharing the joyful news!
Now, where is my first grade sweetie? LOL, oh yeah, my ex and I ran into him (and his wife) in Holland some years ago, and we all had an interesting chat....my ex got really upset when Jay gave me a hug and kissed my cheek! His wife just grinned. He said he had recognized me immediately (though I am sure I had changed a lot). He used to yank on my pigtails and make goofy faces at me from 1st -3rd grade. LOL. Then, his family moved away when were in 4th, I never saw him again until I was in my late twenties...and he called out my name when he saw me strolling around Dam square, in Amsterdam!
Best wishes, as this long-term relationship sounds like it was meant to be a forever one.

LOL my primary school love moved to Australia. My high school love turned out to be gay, but I'm still hanging on my first study year love.

Congrats from me too, it's always a pleasure to see happiness around.

Martie: yes I am very happy. I thought I was going to be on my own for good. Its nice when we don't get what we expect sometimes.

Park: How about young at heart??

Ringo: I hope so too. He is such an easy going guy. I think he will stay that way.

Sunshine: First loves are special. When we met up again it was like we hadn't been apart. All that had changed was we had grown a bit older.
I'll have to get Bec to tell you what she thinks. I will say, when she sent us a card to congratulate us, there was a sealed note inside  for Colin. (I think she wanted to say welcome to the family.)

Midnitesun: Sometimes its nice to run into them again. I know I have in the past and thought 'wow I was lucky to get out of that one!'

Titia: Hang in there. It only took me about 36 years.

Thank you all for your kind words. I know Colin and I are going to be happy for the rest of our lives.

Dee, I think that's wonderful! Personally, i've never trusted a man named after a body part but, if you like him, that's good enough for me!!

He's a lucky fella!

I'm pretty happy with the whole arrangement, as Mum (and Col ) knows. We're trying to organise when I can come home so they can set a date.

I'm very excited!!

Update!

A date is set! Mum and Col are getting married December 29. I'll be leaving Japan on December 20, and I'll be home for almost three weeks, which will be nice.

Hi All

I know its been a long time since I've visited and I'm sorry but sometimes life has to come before poetry

I'm posting a link to a pic (called vows ) that some of you might like to see. I'm not putting the pic in here cause I think it might be a bit big and take a while to load.
