LOS ANGELES (AP) - James Doohan, the burly chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise in the original Star Trek TV series and motion pictures who responded to the command "Beam me up, Scotty," died early Wednesday. He was 85. |

He was great for the part, especially since he was Canadian and that Scottish accent he portrayed so well was an act....a good man. His wife is having his ashes sent up into space...he's getting his wish. Thanks, Nancy, for acknowledging him  |

loved his accent and the part he portrayed so well...thank you for this moment in time to remember and give him a smile of warmth and well wishes, perhaps now, when we say..."Beam me up Scotty", he will hear it... Hugs Mr. James Doohan, for giving us so many moments of escape and good clean entertainment. Good Jobber! Talk about shining stars.... |

I just loved the series. Sometimes I just don't realize that those people age too. Scotty will always remain...well...Scotty in my mind. Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |
