I've been trying to wish my husband Happy Father's Day all day, but he's convinced that it is next week.

sigh.

Y'see what I go through?

*shaking my head*

I wish I weren't serious.

Just got off the phone with mine, and made very sure to thank him for teaching me things every feller should know: basic automotive, basic plumbing, basic carpentry, basic electrical.  How to change an alternator and master brake cylinder, redo the house plumbing, build furniture and doorframes, the value of breaker boxes and how to wire an outlet.

And to me, he'll always be a hero.  You don't get the Silver Star, Air Medal, Distinguished Service Cross, and Bronze Star with clusters for sittin on yer butt.  Not to mention raising four lil independent minded hellions.  You don't get medals for that, though you should.

"You don't get medals for that..."

Dads get an assorted and varied number of things for Father's Day...

some get phone calls, a day out; some get picnics, and do the cooking...

some get ties, but the best medal of all,
is a child's respect, the thanks, the unsaid love.

Happy Father's Day, Men of Passions!

Yep.  Reasons I didn't try contacting my two brothers.  First off, I can't find their numbers; second off, one lives in Japan; third off, I reckon they had very full days.  Elder has two kids (in Japan), younger has 5 (most from marriage).  Both are almost spitting distances from beaches.
