Hello dear friends;
I'm requesting all the prayers I can get for my nephew, Chris. He's 26, a junior high math teacher, and just married in July. He had been having problems with a lump on his arm for a little while now and my brother and his wife kept urging him to see a doctor. He finally saw a doctor and the doctor more or less brushed him off, telling him to use ice and giving him anti-inflamatories for it. After a few more weeks of it not getting any better, he returned to the doctor who sent him to a sports medicine doctor. This doctor finally did an x-ray and discovered a huge tumor that surrounds the bone and goes into the bone in his arm. He has an appointment at Hershey Medical Center on Monday (Feb 14th). Needless to say, things aren't sounding good and we are all worried sick here.
We'll take all the prayers we can get right now.
Thank you,
Ruth

He's in my prayers Ruth. Let us know what happens. (And that doctor should be told what he missed!)

Ruth,
If ever prayers were needed, this is it. I can't imagine but I can pray. Peace to you and your family and may your nephew find healing.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Ruth, I can honestly tell you that my stomach did flip flops and my heart began to race as I read your announcement. Your nephew Chris most assuredly will be in my prayers every night when I go to bed. He obviously is a hard-working young man who got his education and has a very responsible job. My thoughts are with you all.

Sending my love and a rainbow of healing Light,
Linda

UPDATE

Continue to hold Chris in your prayers. He saw a specialist on Monday (2-14-05) and the tumor has actually eaten away one of the two bones in his lower arm. It measures 9cm x 7cm right now (anyone who knows metric knows that's a huge tumor to be located in the forearm). They need to do surgery to remove the tumor and will also have to remove one of the two bones in his arm from elbow to wrist and will replace that bone with a bone from a cadaver. The surgery will be very long (multiple hours) and the chance of success is 75%, if he falls in that 25% they will have to operate again and remove the cadaver bone. They can give no indication of whether the tumor is cancerous or not until after the surgery. It is encapsalated by a fluid filled pocket and biopsy without surgery is not possible. Due to the fluid, he is not permitted to use that arm right now. They wanted to do surgery 2-26, but my nephew refused (needed to take care of some things he said) so the longest they would wait is 3-16, that is the tenative date provided they have a bone available that will fit. There is no guarantee regarding use of his arm after surgery.
Chris is a wonderful young man and well loved at his school. Please continue to keep him and his parents in prayer.
Thank you,
Ruth

Just came by and saw this.  I'm so sorry and certainly will pray for Chris beginning now.  May our Lord help him in the challenge that he faces.  May his entire family be strong and supportive in prayer with and for him. God bless
