where the wild flowers grow

Well, it goes as follows..

I went in on Wednesday for induction, which started at 10A.M, they had me hooked to an IV with pitocin which they raised the amount introduced into my system periodically.

By 7:00P.M., I had made only enough progress for my doctor to break my water. After that, they had to put in a catheter, and I couldn't get up to labor anymore. I was bed ridden.

I continued to labor with contractions as strong as they could be until morning the next day. I'd gotten an epidural, but it was placed incorrectly so it wouldn't work properly. Whenever they would bolus it, it would cause me to have a very insanely painful back spasm.

By the time my doctor came to see me the next morning, I'd only dialated to 6cm, so we both decided to go for a c-section. I went in and was given the epidural for the section, which caused me to have another back spasm, except 10 times more painful. During the c-section, the anesthesiologist had to gas me.

Afterwards, I was taken into recovery for 2 hours, where they injected me with morphine a few times, and then palpatated my stomach.. to which I replied with a "#%$#@$% you". I normally wouldn't be so rude, but for one, it hurt so bad..and two, I was on a lot of drugs...

FINALLY, I got back to my room, though still in a daze, and was able to hold my baby.

I spent a good 4 days in the hospital and I'm still unable to walk too much. I finally got to come home today, and little Freyja is sleeping really well.

*beaming at you*

She is beautiful, of course. But then, with you as mom, she simply couldn't miss.

Rest...be well. And oh, enjoy...

You've begun a magical love affair sweet lady.

Congratulations Meg!
And OMG, having a section myself
I felt like swinging my fist at the poor nurse who had to press on my belly for the first time.

TG you are fine and the baby . . .

I'm sorry you had a bit of a difficult time with the labor and delivery..
But believe me, just look into her eyes and

Welcome to our newest Pipster sweetheart!
Though it took time and considerable discomfort to bring her into this world, every moment was worth it. Just look at this treasure, this little miracle!

Now that is the sweetest little goddess of love yet to be born this era!  I too remember that first push after a ceasarian, I could have killed someone!  The memory fades of pain fast with all that love in your arms doesn't it?  Congratulations, and welcome to our world, Mz. Freya

Meghan, as a gramma, I can tell you whomever invented that vibrating bouncy seat with the things hanging down, is my hero!  Hope you got one of those as they can save your sanity.  If not?  I would love to send you one if you tell me where in an email?          I also have a trick of putting something into the crib, carseat or whatever carrier of choice is on the go.  I can't put here what it is, (maybe in adult     ) but it sure works in a pinch LOL, but I'll give you a hint - it vibrates - is smaller than a breadbox, and bigger than a toothbrush and comes with batteries.  I remember one time when my son almost died of embarrassment  when it dropped onto the floor in a mall once, and I swear this is a true story.  I had forgotten to remove it from the carrier.  I can't wait for you to share some of yours with Freya with us all here.

Thank you all so much..and Myst, as for the vibrating bouncy chair, it really is a lifesaver... She could be wailing up a storm, and the second you set her in there, she's out like a light. She loves that thing more than me. lol

Well Meghan, I am a full-blown Gramma who shops til she drops for two little princesses, and if you need any advise then  I'm your source for saving your sanity.  Ear plugs can become your best friend too by the way.  Even when a mother sleeps she never sleeps until they are say, 30 or so, LOL, no pressure now.  Next item you will need is a saucer that bounces for her to sit in, and a swing, but that chair will do you for a long while yet.

It sure sounds like Freya is a dream baby though, and when she starts teething I have more tricks up my sleeve that actually work and cost not a thing!Just think, after those awful blues are gone, and things return to semi-normal I bet you will have found the best little friend you are ever going to have laying there cooing up at you.
