I guess all we can do is just pray for our friends in Jeanne's path and that this is the last of this.

Hope you will all check in when you can just to let us know you are fine down there please?

I'm following the hurricane news live too and I'll keep my fingers crossed for all friends who live there.

As I told Marge before:

WHO SAID FLORIDA WAS A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE???

Hope all will come through safely, but I'm afraid Jeanne will leave a lot of damage behind.

Isn't it a little too much: four hurricanes in less than 6 weeks???

You're in my thoughts constantly my friends.

Titia

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Reporting in ... cranky but safe~
The yard is a MESS ... AGAIN !

We lost power at around 8 this morning, but just got plugged back in~
Nothing but for those power crews !!!
Working in these dangerous conditions, they deserve all the accolades I could possibly heap on them ... and then some~

The winds are relentless, the rain is torrential ... but all those I love are safe and that's the blessing I hold most dear~

Titia ... write your mother !!!

Appreciate all the prayerful thoughts, we sure need them as people begin again to rebuild their lives~

That was some hurricane and I am glad you are safe, as is your family.  Thanks so much for checking in we do all worry about you folks down there big time.  I am hurricane weary and I don't even live there.

Well ... guess we wait for the rest to find their way home.

Bless you all down there, and hopefully it won't be too long until your lives are back to normal.

Well ... I guess it is going to be really hard to check in as word is that there might not be power for up to three weeks in Florida for those without it.  I tried reaching PoetdeVine a few times, and then left a message.  Later I realized if her cell phone had died, it would be darn hard to charge it without power

Still hoping everyone is okay down there and waiting to hear.

It's still a good plan!

FINALLY!  I got Sharon going from her car to home at Noon to see if the power was on yet in their house.  (I never thought about that part - no air-conditioning there!)  They did pretty well she said, the house stayed all in one piece but their neighbours didn't fair too well, loosing three rooms and their furniture sits on their lawn at this moment.  She ended up staying in the shelter 24 hours then having to go back again, so of course she has written about her experiences there and will post that when she can.  She said the phones are very unreliable at the moment, so I was just lucky to reach her, but the main thing is - she is okay!  I thought that her friends would want to know that outside of being hot, tired, and a little more than fed up with rain, she is okay.   (That will teach her to do a rain dance you think?)

Sharon,

I am glad you are okay and have hot water again!   Next time come up to Jax, (we didn't  get it as bad) and stay with me, the pregnant teenager and 4 cats!! It will be fun!!

Seriously, I have an extra bedroom and a garden tub!!!

Gee Susan, maybe next time I will could stay with you, (garden tub you say?) At least that way I can be closer to worrying about my friends If you can you see Florida with binoculars from there, count me in, I'll bring potluck? LOL

Let's hope there is no next time.  All is not all that well that ended well this time, so much damage, loss, and devastation with so many in a row.

I'm so glad to hear that every one is okay again. Things can be replaced (in time), but lives can't. I love you all.

Hey DeVine...how are you liking sunny Florida??
Seriously, when the really cold weather gets set in up North and you're seeing the good ole Florida sunshine, you are going to be so happy that you are here. My daughter and her family are planning a move to the Tampa area. Her husband has friends in some kind of computer business there and have offered him a job. She finally (after a couple of years) convinced her family to move there from Massachusetts. She said that after all these years, she just can't get adjusted to the winters up there.

Anyway, the occurrences this hurricane season have never happened in all my years, and I hope and pray that I never see the likes of this season ever again!!

Heart hugs to you all,
Ethel

LOL. You seem to be forgetting, Ethel, that Sharon moved to Florida from the freakin' desert. Come the winter months, instead of praising your sunshine, she's liable to be complaining you guys are much too wet and cold.

Me, on the other hand …

It was beautiful today...windy...not too humid...cloudy but not enough to hide the sun...Ok..THIS is why I moved here.

I've got your room ready Ron. Head on down anytime!
