http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,131842,00.html

I heard on the news this morning, not only was Grenada plummited with brutal winds, and rains, destroying most all in it's path, but the looters are uncontrollable...american students there have been forced to arm themselves with wooden clubs and knives...shhheeeshhh, sometimes I'd like to slap mankind right upside the head?

Sorry

I'll assist you, Lee. SHEESH! is right.
Meanwhile, Ivan is a level 5 now, according to the latest reports.
Florida and the entire southest, including all the islands, need a break, a chance to cleanup. Guess MOTHER NATURE isn't going to give anyone a break just yet.
Do you think, perhaps, that she is simply slapping us back, for all the abuse we stupid humans have given her? Ya think?

Right behind Kacy, just caught the update on Ivan.  This is not good.  I have a feeling that Floridians are going to be heading inland...and staying there.  Especially since the meterologists are forecasting a decade or more of this stuff....

to all of our PiP poets...please, STAY SAFE!

todays Friday and this morning I heard Ivan is about to hit Jamaca with 145 mph winds.
God bless them, and anyone else in this killer's path...

Last night the news reported that as always our climates run cycles and we haven't had severe hurricans for years, but now, for the next few years, we're going to get hit, according to their studies from the 1930's.

I hope they're wrong...but...so far...they are unfortunately right.

My feelings exactly Sunshine, to all of you down South, pls stay safe and keep us posted on how your doing.

Nance?

thank you

Funny, here in New Orleans, we watch and know, once a 'cane hits Cuba it becomes like a drunkard throwing darts.

But we are boarded up (sorta) and I just bought enough candles to have church thrice.

It's a strange time and an odd thing to pray for as the first wish is, naturally, "don't hit us."

So I'd be grateful if we could all just send some prayers out that this storm diminishes to cause minimal damage, wherever he might land.

and Ethel?

Stay safe too, please.

Hugs to Florida, and Alabama.

and Mississippi.

(and me too please?)

I heard on the weather channel this morning (wed. Sept. 22) that Ivan is nothing to try and ride out...when it hits along the coast, the surg will be 20 feet....not to mention, high winds, tornadoes and heavy heavy rain, as they expect it to stall...so please get outa there, all you folks down that way, don't be brave, it's not worth it...be safe and let us know how your all doing...please...prayers and thoughts sent your way

By the way, there's another tropical storm forming now, 65 mph heading for Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, this ones named Jean????
Oh my oh my!!!!

Keep a cautious eye on this one ... he's BAD BAD BAD !

To those who are in the strike zone ... get the heck OUT ... don't think you're tough enough to "ride it out" ... cause OUT just might be in the making~

Prayers for all in the path of this horrible force of nature~

I cry at the very thought of it for all concerned~

Ser?
If you can read this I hope you aren't in New Orleans.

Looks like the eye may not hit there but much damage will still be done from the high winds and heavy rain.

Please check in with me when you can.

Love ya lady~

I pray all in Ivan's path are safe and gone inland to higher ground.
This one is mighty nasty!

Nance? Here ya go--
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&address=&city=Terrytown&state=LA

I'm right where that red star is...If you can see from the surrounding waterways, evacuation is something that folks in my area consider a luxury, as you'd have to start out two days in advance. Besides, my husband's job entails that he be on call during a state of emergency--dumb, tho, considering the bridge is closed--he couldn't get there anyhow. So it's not about being tough--it's about being STUCK.  (There's only two ways outta here and one of them is to Mississippi, and well, we weren't going there.)

It's looking like we'll skim just left of Ivan, which is good for us, but bad for my nephew, who is located in Mobile.

On the bright side, as you know, we've managed pick up the workshop we had set up outside (cracked tile EVERYWHERE! ) as we renovated this house, and well, we had plenty of wood to board up with. Another bonus is that this house has interior rooms.

But I'll check in, weather allowing, and I sure wish Ethel would check in as well.

Anybody hear from her? Or Temptress?

In comparison, my situation is much safer than theirs.

Hugs Nance, your concern touches me deeply.

And shaking my head, keep praying for Florida folks. It doesn't seem to be over for them.

DANG, you are right next to Ivan's pathway. And some of our other friends may be even closer. Hope everyone is GONE or safely secured in a strong building on higher ground.
I'll be keeping the incense burning for all of you.

Right now?

I'm listening to "Peace In the Valley", by the King, EP...and smiling.

This storm shaved my legs folks.

I pray everyone else shared my great fortune, and thank you all for the prayers.

Does prayer work?

I'm convinced.

Hello everyone.

I hope everyone else is okay from Florida, Alabama, and wherever else this thing kicked besides Mississippi.

I'm here in my apartment so that means it isn't flooded or flattened, thank goodness.

I stayed only about 10 miles from the beach, but in a house instead of here, so I stayed safe.

I think I'd still rather be here in Gulfport where there are advance warnings for hurricanes than be somewhere with no warning for tornadoes.

Laters for now everyone. I have stuff to unpack again.
