LOL, it was just a couple weeks ago I was braggin 'bout my daughter, who just graduated from high school. And today? she took first place in her very first Dressage test at a horse show in Washington. I had to stay here and feed and water the rest of the barn and pasture horses (about 25 horses). *Sigh* she called while I was out at the barn and left this message:
"Mom, I need to talk to you, tonight"
and when we connected tonight, I had a hard time holding back tears of joy when she told me her score put her in first place. LOL, but on the second event, she couldn't get her horse to halt and he just trotted right out of the arena, which of course, disqualified her. She said, "So we won't talk about that one."
I'm too tired to write a decent poem for her, but rest assured, a word or two will arrive (via muse) before the next full moon.

Congrats, Mom Kacy!  I know how proud you must be.  I'll be watching for that poem.  I'm quite behind on my reading and am going to try to catch up a little this weekend (don't know how much yet because for the next two weeks I'm going to be pretty busy with a special project).  I'll get everything read eventually.  lol

Thanks Jo, yes, I am very very proud of her, since her first Dressage lesson was only about three months ago, and she didn't expect to even go to a show until next summer!
As for catching up, I do undersatnd. It's a fulltime occupation just READING here.
LOL, never mind the time it takes for writing/posting/replying to all the kind readers. *sigh* we need a 48 hour day.

Your daughter is extremely fortunate to have a Mom such as you.  Methinks that bragging rights should be extended to both of you!  Keep bringing in those success stories, Kacy...heaven knows we don't see enough of them in the daily news!

What a thrill for both of you, Kacy!
I enjoy these reports and appreciate so well the connection I sense between the two of you.

You two have both worked so very hard towards realizing a dream, and isn't it just wonderful to see it happening?  Way to go Sarah, and also way to go Mom!

Thank you, Sharon! It IS hard work, but the rewards are so totally worth the effort.
Soon, I'll post a photo or two, though it's doubtful anyone took a photo of her at this event, as SHE is also the photographer for this group. LOL, and they have said more than once, that her photos are superior to the paid professional's photos they saw from past shows.

Thanks, Marge. The trainer/instructor with whom she is apprenticing says she has natural talent and ability, is already a professional in her horse handling techniques. *sigh* Every parent should be this lucky, to live to see their child shine so soon in their chosen profession.
