Gulp...this will be my first...they are saying that where I am we'll only have thunderstorms...or maybe tornadoes..and lots of wind and rain. If it gets us, we'll know by Friday...thanks for thinking of us.

Light the lamps and break out the cards!
Batten down and hang on tight y'all, be safe.

A small piece of advice from a born Floridian; If you make spaghetti and the power goes out, a fondue pot is definitely not a feasible alternative for finishing the pasta Enjoy the saucy garlic bread instead.

YES, hoping everyone stays safe! I've lived in Florida and remember being at the edge of one of those things, and witnessed the considerable amount of damage hurricanes can do in a matter of minutes.
Yep, batten down the hatches, but have a hurricane party with friends if you can, and make the best out of a wild situation!
That's what I did in Tally years ago when one hit just before Thanksgiving. We had a giant BBQ/cleanup party, complete with live music and a volleyball game!
But seriously, Kraw, you take care too, if it comes into your neighborhood.

The one here now is Bonnie...the other one down there is Charley...glad they didn't name it Clyde...then I might be scared.

Thanks for thinking of us~
I'm in Volusia County, just West of Daytona Beach ... We have learned to take these Hurricanes very seriously.

Hatches battened here~
Right now we've got some tornado warnings, flood warnings and severe weather alerts ... but, the sun is shining over my meadow for now~

Staying informed~
Keeping everyone in prayerful thought~

Take care all of you down there.  It's really hard to find out much about this Hurricane Charley up here so I have been trying to follow it on the net.  I understand it will hit around 8:00 p.m. on Friday so I sincerely hope all of you make it through this in the best possible way.

My mom's been keeping me posted. They're up here in Canada right now, but they have a place in the Naples/Bonita Springs area so they're watching closely to see how all their friends are coping.

This is looking pretty scary after the change in direction and upgrade over the last hour.

You Floridians pleeeeeeeease take care and be safe!  Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Florida checking in !!!

Here in my area, Volusia County, we are beginning to get the feeder bands of the storm. Rain, lightning and winds.

My son and his wife live in Tampa, and that area has been mostly evacuated.

My brother's mobile home park, here in DeLand, is under mandatory evacuation, so he is coming here with Bill and I.

We are well prepared, if anyone can prepare for a storm like this~

You folks here in Florida .... all take care~
Hoping that the new co-ordinates of the storm do not place others in peril~

Hope to keep you all posted~

Well...the truck is in the garage, the lawn furniture is in...

It's just me, the kids and 4 cats.

I am in Duval county (North Jacksonville) and they are saying our first serious band is coming in.  Winds around 58 mph, lightening and tornados.

I am about to go out into the garage to watch..

Good luck everyone!

Checking in from Northern Florida. Jacksonville to be exact. In duval county. Well me and my parents survived. We got 1 tornado here from Tropical Storm Bonnie. We got pelted with rain from Hurricane Charley. But I am still here.

WHEW !!!! JUST GOT OUR POWER BACK UP !!

The good news is that the ones I love are all safe, as are Bill and I~

Bill and I, with my brother staying with us, lost power at the peak of the hurricane in our area at 10 p.m. Friday evening.
A twister layed down some old majestic Oaks just down the street from us, taking out a major power line.  Then just around the other corner another major line down when trees toppled.

Our actual damage here at our home was minimal ... not counting the loss of food items from the extended power outage.

My daughter, Tracie, wasn't as fortunate, as a tree fell on her car causing extensive damage ... but ... SHE IS SAFE~  THAT is what counts~

Son Robert and wife Dana in Tampa .... just fine and dandy, as the storm really didn't touch them.

Son David and wife Kim and darling grandgirls,Delaney and Landry, went through a rough part of the storm ... large tree down on their Volleyball Court .... some minor shingle damage .... but ... THEY ARE SAFE~
They are still without power at their home, so have taken retreat at Kim's parents home~

Son Steven and wife got some rough blow with a tornado ... but besides the tree damage and some minor pool damage ... they are also ALL FINE !!!

My step-father and step-mother and all my 'other' family are just fine ... some of them still 'powerless' ... but safe~

Thank you ALL for keeping us in prayerful thought .... we thank HIM for the blessings of keeping us safe~

Our prayers are with the families that lost loved ones in this vicious storm ... also praying that another does not hit us~
