I hate it when the good die young. I had no idea. Thanks for sharing that. May he rest in peace as his legacy soars. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Dear Temptress, thank you for this link to Matte's web site. A cruel disease took him and his sibblings. A very very rare form of MS. Matte was brilliant, full of positive light, despite his affliction, and his poetry was brilliant...not to mention, his insight and love for mankind, his desire for peace through out the word... He was incredibly aware and noted in his words, that a poet's words were a poet's HEARTSONGS, continuing to urge people to understand, there is no good poetry nor bad poetry, despite renowned critiques. Matte announced that every poet's Heartsong was important, every single word, regardless of the length. Never the less, Matte, although, 13 years old I believe, will serve up to me, much inspiration for the rest of my life. In Matte's affliction, he never complained...but...more so, was and felt blessed and happy, no, extatic to be alive and to experience. An amazing Child, who could put me to shame. He has humbled me in his plight, and I believe he also humbled his good friends, Jerry Lewis, Oprah, and Larry Kind in many ways...he possessed a peculair charisma which sunk right to the essence of one's soul. He was love, unconditional and glowed the emotion. I encourage everyone to check out this web site and experience this amazing young poet, who to me, was more a man, then some men I've known, he was, an angel in human form, capturing the hearts of all who read his poetry. Confined to a wheel chair, without the ability to breath on his own. I believe with my heart, he was God's glory and example of how we should live life to it's fullest and stop the arguing. His only goal, was not for himself, but for all of mankind. Peace. God bless you Matte, God speed, and heres hoping everyone in the world who reads your poetry is touched by the brilliance, your courage, your genius, and learn from your positive attitude and extreme faith...your glory to life and mankind.
