Indeed, sigh...
One of my favorite musical memories is being at the Beef and Board in Cincinnati, Ohio, watching him do a show back in the mid 70's. Even though, I guess it was my first concert, I never really considered it as such. The funny thing that happened during that show, is that one of the horn blowers messed up, and Brother Ray stopped the song, apologized to the audience, and asked the trumpeter, "You wanna get it with us, this time?"... he then picked it up again.
And anyone that has heard him sing America, The Beautiful that doesn't get the emotion is simply a cold fish.
