This is such sad news. It just breaks my heart that we seem to have lost so many here in pip.

I received a note from Becca's Mom, Rae, and would like to pass on the arrangements that her family have now made.  I know there may be those in her loving family here too, that might possibly wish to donate to "The Rebecca Grant Memorial," that has been set up at the funeral home in her name.

quote:
It's been a busy day with lots of hugs.  All day I keep saying, "Thank you, Lord, Becca's in a better place today than she was yesterday."

Tim said they'd talked it over after our son Rod's death.  Rebecca said she wanted to be cremated, so there'll be a memorial service Tuesday, February 8th at 6 P.M. at:

Anderson Funeral Home
2011 S. 4th St.
DeKalb, Il. 60115
Phone:  (815) 756-1022

A memorial has been established there in her name, also.

We're so thankful to everyone for all this wonderful support and the constant prayers.  No words could possibly express the comfort derived.

God bless you, Sharon.  I'll be in touch.  I printed out all the sympathy wishes ( 7 pages) from the discussion forum to share with all the family.

Love,

Rae

I too found myself saying off and on today, "Thank you God for taking Becca home."

Heaven is a better place today. May the angels love her as much as she was loved on earth. Love to all of her beloved family. Joyce

I, too, am lost for words to express my appreciation to each of you. I've been busy copying poetic tributes and expressions of sympathy messages you've posted.  We're making a book of her poetry to be placed at her memorial with your kind verses and comments in the pages that follow.  This will be presented to Tim and their children as a keepsake.  Both Spiritual and Open had poems.  Thank you all so very much.

Love and God's blessings,

   Rae

Dear Rae and all of dear Becky's family,

I just read this thread and I am so sad for you all.  To have had such a special spirit with you and then to allow her to climb to that place where her body will be perfected, it must be so difficult for you all.  My heart goes out to you filled with the joy that Becky shared with me of her faith of love.  I pray the peace that passes understanding alights within your hearts.....jo

Such a wonderful poet and angelic person... I"m so sad to see her go, but I'm happy that she is with her Savior, who she loved so much, and who she worked for all of her life. Rest in Peace Becky... and prayers for strength to the family.

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

No words can adequately express my sorrow to Rebecca's family.
Know she is in a better place and will be sorely missed here at Passions.

My God's grace and healing be with you all.
Hugs, Marti

Dear Rae and family:

Thanks for keeping us updated.  I can still hardly believe Becky is no longer with us.
She left a big impact on this site and everyone she came in contact with. She will never be forgotten and through her wonderful poems, lives on with us. My deepest sympathy is with all of you and continuing love and prayers.

I wanted to clarify for some the intent of the "Memorial Fund" set up in Rebecca Grant's name at Anderson Funeral Home.  I received a note from her Mom that will explain the intent inasmuch as she knows it to be.

quote:
The funeral director from Anderson's said they'll deliver or mail whatever memorial cards and/or funds might come in directly to Tim.  Tim can take his time determining how he wants to use the funds. A memorial in her honor, hospital bills, an education fund for the kids,or any way he wishes, it can be used, the director told him.  The funds, in cards we receive, are given to Tim.  He mentioned a memorial for her at the park, in addition to a marker where her ashes will be buried, but haven't heard of anything beyond that.  I'll be glad to pass the question on to him, as people have every right to know how any donation they make will be used. We can get together to write 'thank you' notes next week.  I appreciate he sure could use some wind-down time, too.

When I get something more definite, I'll surely let you know.
Love,
  Rae
Any cards/donations can be sent to:

Rebecca A. Grant Memorial Fund
Anderson Funeral Home,
P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.

For information, call (815) 756-1022.

Thank you all for asking about the fund, and God bless the "Dove."

No words can possibly express how deeply grateful we are for each and every prayer, post, card, e-mail, and tribute during Becca's suffering and beyond her passing.

A book of her poetry with the tributes and wishes from you, was presented to Tim and the children as a keepsake.  It was at her memorial where many read and requested copies.

It was here with this family, that her faith grew.  It's been so heartwarming to know how many she's touched in a positive way.

God bless each of you caring souls.

Love,
   Rae

Ashley, I am so glad you came here to see the love that your mother received by our poets and community. I know it is hard, but she is talking to you even now. Please know she is looking over all of her loved ones, and still inhabits the minds of many poets here who knew her.

Peace be with you, child.

Always,

Sunshine

Hi Ashley,

I never met your Mom here, but I wish I had.  I can still feel the love that people have for her after so many years.

Thinking of you.
