Dearest Ron, I read in another post that this month celebrates the 5th anniversary of these forums. I must say that if it had not been for this haven, I might not be alive today. Before I joined the ranks of wonderful poets and friends here at PIP I felt I had very little to live for, but you (RON) gave me a voice, an avenue in which to speak that voice, and a couple thousand people who understood what I was trying to say, but most of all, Ron, you gave me hope. It was through my writing and the reading of others' writings that I finally felt I belonged in this world. We ALL take for granted, everything you do for us here at PIP and I, personally, want to appologise for that. It is truly remarkable that you put up with us all for so long. If not for you and your vision for this place, I don't know where I might be (if I still existed at all). So, for that I want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Jeffrey - Seeing sincere gratitude such as yours for the gifts these blue pages offer our poets is very, very special. You're right - Many do take this place for granted. That's pretty insignificant, though, in light of those who DO appreciate what Ron does for them. These forums, following an earlier and less effective version, opened with Ron's membership on May 19, 1999 - Here's the first poem that he posted in these pages. /pip/Forum2/HTML/000002.html Well, we couldn't have such a wonderful place devoid of other poets for long, so we began inviting others to join as well. Check the dates next to their names to see some who were around at that time... Poet deVine, Balladeer, Sunshine, and lots of others are still with us... Happy Birthday all...  Ron - You ARE the bestest friend I could ever hope for...  |

What a wonderful post.. I don't reply very often, and I post less often than that, but I still love you all very much and appreciate this place. I came here when I was 15 and the people I met here have helped me through some of the toughest times of my life, including those scary adolecent teenage years!! I'm 19 now and I really credit PIP and the people here for helping me to become who I am today. Happy birthday PIP, and thanks to Ron and everyone who makes this possible. Oh, make me Thine forever And should I fainting be Lord, let me never ever Outlive my love for Thee |

Jeff, I am glad to hear you found this site and it made a difference to you. I for one take nothing for granted that our kind benefactor does, and thank him silently every single time I walk through the forums and see people from all over the world writing. In an age where other priorities pull us in all directions, it is nice to know that someone cared enough to create a haven for us to escape to where writing poetry is the common bond, and so graciously at his own expense. I want to wish Pip a big Happy Birthday, and once again, thank Ron for all that he is and does. |

Five years already? Oh my...I never intended to stay so long at this party!!  Thanks to Ron and Nan, Kit and Karilea and all the wonderful Mods and DMs who make this a haven..and thanks to everyone who shows up to read or write or just browse. For those who were here but are gone (but not forgotten) I wish them all happiness. For this seeking a place to call home, I hope they join PiP soon. |

Jeffery...A wonderful salute to the man that that made all of this possible. Thanks Ron for all you do, I remember when my first poem was posted here, I never thought it would happen, but you made it all possible. Many have come and gone but the truly sincere people that have dedicated their time and energy to PIP deserve a special thank you also.
