Hi All:

I have been co-authoring a chapbook on wildlife and nature, with Stacy Smith, of Indiana.  It is published and here is a link to the bookstore, if you are interested in looking at it.
http://www.shadowpoetry.com/bookstore/alongtheriver.html

All the proceeds will go to a raptor rescue center in Indiana. Thanks for reading and looking!

Betty Lou,
I found access at a friends house and took a peek at your project. I'm impressed. I hope it does extremely well. By the way, I was born in Newport, WA You are in pretty country...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Betty, that's a wonderful accomplishment!  I've recently become acquainted with Shadow Poetry.  Someday when you have time, you might want to share your experiences with us on how you went about getting the chapbook published!  It would make for some interesting reading!

Sunshine:  Thanks for responding. The way the chapbook came about, is because Stacy entered a Shadow Poetry chapbook contest and though she did not win a major prize, she did win a 25% off coupon.  She contacted me, as we had worked before on a book she published in 2001, about wildlife.
We decided to co-author this chapbook and as mentioned, she chose a raptor rescue center to benefit from the proceeds.

We have been working on it for about three months, with Marie Summers, the editor at Shadow Poetry.  She is super to work with and couldn't have been more helpful. I have won a prize or two in the past, in Shadow Poetry contests, but never entered the chapbook contest.  If you go to their site, you will find a list of all their contests and there are a number of them, for different categories. Nice prizes for each one, plus publication.  Check it out when you have time. I am very pleased with the association Stacy and I have had with them.
It was not horribly expensive either, by splitting the cost.  Each of us paid $148.13
and received 30 copies apiece to do with as we please.

If I can be of any further help, let me know. Thanks.
