Hello.

Once upon a time there used to a poetry website
called the Open Scroll. It is the first place
I ever posted a poem. Once that site closed down,
several Scrollers ended up here, and if you are
reading this and are one of those of whom I speak,
please accept my thanks for entire group.

My book of poems, The Singing of the Wheels:
Poems from Somewhere Not Far, was published
by Wind Publications just this past January.

Here is a link to its page at the publisher's
website:
www.windpub.com/books/singing.htm

and its listing at Amazon:
www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1893239241

It will take late into the spring before it ever
reaches book store shelves.

Again, thank you for all the encouragement, for
giving me my start

Most Sincerely,
--J Brian Long

I have a couple of things to say here...

First - My most sincere and enthusiastic congratulations to you my fine poet friend... You richly deserve this honor... Indeed you do...

Second - As a former Scroller myself, I can personally vouch for the phenomenal quality of Brian's poetry.  I personally will be purchasing a copy as soon as I'm able - So please keep us all informed, OK??

Beyond that?  Say hello to your family - AND...

Would you consider giving us a teaser and posting one or two of your poems here at PiP??  Please?? I'm not above groveling here, Bri...

Congratulations Brian, I have heard Nan mention you actually, and understand you are very deserving of this honor.

By the way - you may want to ask Nan with her eraser to fix our first link in your post and take the "l" out of the htm"L" and then it works, and looks pretty darn good I might add, and it works with this:
http://windpub.com/books/singing.htm

Again, congratulations.

Nan, Mysteria,

Thank you so very much for the kudos.
That you would be interested enough, Nan,
to purchase a copy is truly an honor,
and Thank you, Mysteria, for pointing
out my mistake with the link.

Where would you have me post a sample
poem?

Again, thank you

Most Sincerely,
--J Brian Long

Brian~
Congratulations !

I will be looking for your book to hit the market~

Enjoyed reading your bio information at the site and the sample of your poetry was most touching and impressive~

You reached for the stars ... and touched them ! A glow ... aglow~

OK, Brian - I've fixed your link...

If you'd consider posting, your membership is still intact (I checked) - so  you're clear to do so.

To choose a forum, just click on "Main Forums" on the blue bar at the top of this page, and you'll see a plethora of choices...

I'm remembering a great one about an old wagon wheel...

Brian,
As a former "Scroller" I must say that I'm so glad I caught this posting. I've been a fan of yours from way back when and think this couldn't have happened to a better person. Congratulations, the book looks great and the excerpt from it is wonderful!
Smiling here in PA,
Ruth

Brian:  Sincere congratulations on your book!  How exciting for you.  I am in the midst of co-authoring a book and I can't wait to see it out.  I'll be watching for yours and will go read the poem you are posting. Nice that you have let us all know.
